Chapter 2

Randy did not know how long he knelt there, straddling Rob's lap, wrapped in the other man's arms and he did not care. In the back of his mind, he knew he needed to leave before the rest of Evolution, especially Hunter came looking for him. He needed to talk to Rob about this, whatever this was. After all, he was supposed to be with Hunter. He was a port of Evolution. Could he risk everything he had for what he wanted? Would Rob even want him too? The questions kept running through the back of his mind but the young man was not ready to face them. All he knew was now and that was enough.

"Hey, Randy, wake up. C'mon, we need t'get out of this tub."

The sound of the husky voice was welcome. The words were not. Burying his face further into Rob's neck, he murmured his dissent, wanting to stay where he was forever.

"Baby, you feel good but my legs are going to sleep and I'm wanting to do the same." A gentle hand cupped his chin and raised his face for a soft kiss. "Let's get you dressed and out of this water before we both turn into fish."

Randy lifted his head, blinking a few times at the light before focusing on Rob's smiling face. Leaning forward, he pressed a light kiss on soft lips but became lost in the taste and began to nibble over Rob's lips, asking for entrance. Rob, however, pulled back, and Randy pouted at the loss.

"Be a good boy and get dressed and you can get that kiss." As before, the promise of a reward spurred Randy into quick movement and he had his swim trunks pulled back, climbed out of the pool, and wrapped his robe around him before Rob even managed to get out.

Walking over to one of the sun chairs around the pool, Rob picked up his own robe and draped it over his shoulders, an amused sparkle in his hazel eyes. "A little eager?"

Randy blushed at the words, feeling like he was a teenager again. However, those years were not very long ago and this was his crush. His crush who had touched him, tasted him, almost made love to him. Suddenly, the man was in front of Randy again and the taller wrestler did not resist as Rob gripped the edges of his robe, pulling him forward and lifting up the few inches to lightly caress Randy's lips with his own.

Randy immediately embraced him tightly and responded in kind, opening his mouth to allow Rob to enter. He loved this, loved the way the shorter man kissed him, slow and...playful. No domination, no harshness, no demand.

When they parted again, though, Rob had a serious look in his eyes that made Randy uneasy. "Are you involved with someone or was earlier tonight a one night stand?"

At first Randy thought Rob was referring to them but soon realized he was asking about the lover who had made him sore. "Yeah, I mean, I'm sort of involved." He wished he had rejected Hunter's advances, remained single. However, what was done was done.

"Well, 'cause of what just happened, either it's not serious or you're having problems. Which is it?"

Randy gazed at the ground, unable to meet Rob's eyes. How was he supposed to answer this? It was serious and there were no problems, at least not really, not until Rob had kissed Randy. And why was Rob asking anyway? Most people would have already left upon finding out that Randy already had a lover. He wished he knew what Rob was thinking. "I...I'm not sure anymore."

A gentle but firm hand cupped his cheek turning his gaze up to meet Rob's. "Hey, I'm not trying t'judge you. I just want to know what's going on. What I'm getting' into."

Randy's eyes widened at the words. "You...you want...me." But what for? What did Rob want? He had to know and the only way he would know was to ask. "What are you asking me for? What are you planning on getting into?"

Rob smiled and leaned forward to press soft kisses along Randy's neck, making the taller man moan in pleasure, tilting his head to the side. "Well, you for one thing." Randy could not suppress a small chuckle at the answer. "As for the rest, I don't know. I don't know what there is between us, what there could be, but I'd like to find out. What I'm asking for is whatever you'll give me. I'm easy going that way."

"I...I can't. Not right now. I need Evolution and my...my lover." He knew he should walk away but he could not bring himself to. Instead, he hugged Randy tighter, clinging to the man he was rejecting. However, he could not give up his dreams, his title. He was a main-eventer right now because of Evolution, because of Hunter. The blonde had a lot of pull, enough to bury a wrestler and Randy had too much common sense to risk his future, his career, on his heart.

"I understand what you're saying but you're wrong. You don't need them."

"Randy." Both men looked up at the third voice. Dave Batista stood at the gate of the pool, looking at both of them with an unreadable expression. "Hunter's lookin' for you."

"I...I'll be right there." Shit, shit, shit! Randy's mind was panicking. It was foolish to wonder how much Dave had seen because just standing there he was seeing enough. Randy still had his arms around Rob and he quickly pulled away. The smaller wrestler released him without a struggle, watching Dave warily as Randy grabbed his towel and headed out of the area. Randy did not risk a look back as he left, grabbing Dave's arm as he passed through the gate.

They were in the elevator before Randy managed to bring himself to look at the big man. Dave, however, was still just standing there, staring at him with dark eyes.

"Dave, it's not what you think!" He had to convince the other man not to say anything. "It's just...well..." What could you call it when someone found you holding another person. They were practicing wrestling moves? Yeah, right. No, there was only one option to Randy. "Look, just don't tell anyone, please. I'll do whatever you want, just don't say anything."

Dave's smiled in cruel amusement. "Anything? That's not a promise you should be throwing around, Randy, it can get you in a lot of trouble." The fierce look in the dark eyes of Evolution's enforcer was making Randy nervous but what could he do?

Randy licked his lips nervously. This just kept getting worse and worse. "Dave, I'm serious, please don't tell Hunter."

Dave shrugged as the elevator stopped on their floor. "Ok, Randy, I won't."

They stepped into the suite and the blonde cerebral assassin turned around, obviously furious. "Where have you been?"

Randy's earlier annoyance abandoned him. He did not know what it was but when Hunter got this angry, it scared him. He did not understand it since the other man had never hit him, never given him any reason to believe he would but that did not change the fact that it still scared him. "I was down in the hot tub."

"For the last two hours?"

Two hours? "Yeah. I was sore, where else would I be?"

The blonde's eyes narrowed. "Where else indeed?"
