The show was over. Everyone had cleared out of the arena quickly after the final matches as if they were all eager to put the evening behind them. Hunter hadn't even paused to change just grabbed his bags and stormed out with Ric chasing after him shouting, "Champ, Champ what's the hurry Champ?"

Back at the hotel Tyson sat on one of the beds watching as Sean came out of the bathroom. "I think that Hunter's a little scared of you." He pointed out watching as Sean dried his hair after his shower. "He should be," Sean growled and Tyson nodded falling silent as he thought about the events of the evening.

"What happened to I'm gonna take my bitch back and that punk Randy won't have any power to stop me?" Sean asked smartly throwing Tyson's parting words from their last encounter back in his face.

Tyson shot him a glare as he hung his head gritting his teeth. "You knew that it was bullshit when I said it so stop being a prick. I just…" Tyson shrugged and Sean nodded then moved to kneel behind him on the bed massaging his shoulders lightly. "I didn't think that they would really be that much in love." Tyson admitted softly and Sean nodded understanding.

His relationship with Dave had burned hot, but died quickly and painfully. Tyson had been found lurking out on the outer edges of his life standing in the shadows. When Sean found him he thought at first he was some vengeful demon come to take his life for stealing what was his, but instead had been a guardian angel in disguise swooping down and saving him from the worst demon of all… himself. Sean felt no urge to give his former lover a second try, but at the same time understood that things were not the same for Tyson.

His lover's history with Dave was much different than his. Their relationship had evolved over a long period of time. They had been friends long before they talked about sex, but had committed themselves to each other before they ever did anything. For Tyson Dave had been a first… He was that wide eyed ideal that it was ok not to be like all your friends and know you don't care as long as you have him. Of course then Sean had barged in and set his world aflame stealing his "innocence" and teaching him that danger really does lurk in the dark.

Sean had never thought about the man Dave had been with before taking him. All he'd cared about was the fact that he wanted Dave and Dave wanted him and everything else was insignificant. It wasn't until after… until things had started to cool between them and he saw the shadows in his new lover's eyes that he wondered about the man he'd taken him from.

Sean had doubts in the notion that Dave was a forever kind of guy, but wasn't sure how his current lover felt about the idea. So far Sean had not seen anything that would suggest anything different to him and said as much to Tyson who leaned back against Sean and closed his eyes.

"I think that may have been the case when he was with you and I, but something about his feelings for Randy seem different."

Sean thought about Tyson's words and kissed the back of his neck before reluctantly pulling away to get dressed. Tyson was hungry and needed to be fed or else his plans for the evening would be ruined. Climbing off the bed Sean dug through his bag getting out a shirt and pulling it over his head. On their way from the arena Tyson had given him a rundown of the night's events prior to his arrival and something that he'd said suddenly struck him as odd because it conflicted with something that his lover had just said. "If you think that Dave wants to be with Randy forever then why was he so insistent that you stay when you offered to leave?"

Tyson sighed and shrugged slightly as he stared out the window. When he began to speak with was quietly and he hesitated often as if he were afraid or ashamed to speak the words for fear that he was being disloyal to his former lover.

"Some people should not be given choices and Dave is one of them. He can't make up his mind to save his life because he's forever afraid that he'll miss out on something if he lets something or someone else go. He's always sure that any decision he makes will be the wrong one so he can't ever make any decision.

"I think that yesterday or even this morning when he got out of bed Dave was madly and passionately in love with Randy. I don't think that I was even a glimmer in the back of his mind, but as soon as I showed up he remembered that I existed and what we had. He remembered that things were easier for him then. He remembered that he didn't have to be in control all the time then and he remembered that we was the one being taken care of not the one having to take care of other people all the time.

"I think the truth of the matter is Dave doesn't want me… he wants what I gave him. I think the problem with him and Randy are that while he loves Randy deeply Randy doesn't give him all of the things that he needs. I hope that Dave will take my friendship, and even if he doesn't he'd going to get my protection. Until Randy figures out how to give Dave all of the things that he needs he's going to have to accept my presence in their lives. I can't just turn my back on Dave… I know he walked away from me, but… there was too much before that to just turn my back on it."

Sean nodded carefully standing with his arms crossed. He'd moved to stand in front of the window. The darkness outside turned it into almost a mirror and he could make out some translucent image of his lover standing behind him watching with concern on his face. He wished that he could see his face better so that he could judge his reaction to his next question. "So where does that leave us?"

Tyson could see the nervousness on the reflection of Sean's face in the glass and couldn't help but smile softly. One thing Dave and Sean had in common was that they were both incredibly emotional and passionate men. Sean wasn't a man to do anything half way. Once he made up his mind to do something he jumped in with both feet committing himself fully.

Unlike Dave however, Sean tended to be very quiet about his doubts and uncertainties. Sean was also more stable than Dave and their relationship was on more of an even ground, at least that's how it felt to him. Tyson wasn't a dumb man in fact he was quite the opposite and knew that he was lucky to have found Sean. While he still loved Dave and always would, Sean held something that Dave never could and Tyson wasn't about to let him go now or ever.

"You and I are in the same place that we've always been in Sean. I love you. I admit that I hold something special in my heart for Dave and he will probably always be a part of my life. I have made commitments to him that I do not feel will ever be broken and I hop and pray that's something you can come to live with because regardless of all that it's you I love… It's you that I want to spend my life with and it's you that I'd wither and die without. Without Dave I would be sad, but without you I would be nothing but an empty shell."

Sean sniffled then growled as Tyson laughed at him softly. When he found himself in the younger man's arms however nothing else mattered because he finally knew Tyson belonged to him as much as he did to Tyson.

The End!
