He walked soundlessly through the home. He could hear faint sounds coming from the bedroom. They were too faint to make out clearly in the large home, but he knew what they were. He'd known before he walked in the front door, before he'd pulled into the driveway and seen the car that shouldn't be there, before he'd pulled onto his street, before he'd gotten off the plane at the airport or before he'd even gotten on it. He'd known before he'd left the hotel that morning, before he'd left the arena the night before, before he'd ever left his house the previous Friday, or if he was honest with himself he'd known for many months even before that… He'd just not wanted to admit it to himself.
Quietly he made his way through the house and up the wide staircase not needing the sounds to lead him. He wanted to be heartbroken, but he'd gotten past that he supposed. He'd done denial. He'd been there for months telling himself that this wasn't really happening… that the woman he loved more than anything wasn't really fucking his best friend behind his back. He'd even gotten past anger. He knew no one would believe him afterwards… if they ever found out that is. But it was the truth. This wasn't about anger. It was about justice. Or at least that was what he had convinced himself of.
Slowly he made his way down the hallway towards the massive master bedroom, he paused at the open doorway as he watched the activity on the bed. He'd miss this room. It was his favorite place in the house, but then he would be able to rebuild. And this time it would be all about him. Gripping the poker he'd taken from the fireplace tightly he stepped into the room. They hadn't yet figured out he was there. Their bodies were naked and covered in sweat, joined in the most private of manners. Adam's head was thrown backwards. Matt knew his jaw would be hanging open and moving looking like some fish gasping for air. Once he'd thought it sexy… intriguing even as he'd believed that the man had been looking for something to say, but now he knew he was just an empty headed bastard.
Amy… he couldn't see her, but he knew what she would look like just as well. Eyes would be closed, hands clenching the bed sheets, hips bucking upwards to meet Adam's thrusts, tiny noises coming from her throat in between calling out Adam's name. Once he'd thought it was the biggest turn on in the world… watching her like that, now… knowing how many men had seen her like that… the thought only made him sick.
Timing… he knew that was the key. Patiently he stood waiting for the end, waiting for them to find their… final releases so that he could continue. At first he'd wanted to finish them off while they were still consummating their betrayal, but then he'd decided that he wanted to wait until they'd found their pleasure first. So there he stood, listening to them… to his best friend and his girlfriend, his one true love break his trust. He could feel the coldness spreading further over him and let it feed his resolve. Houses could be rebuilt, but the chance for vengeance only came once.
Closing his eyes he listened to the sounds knowing when the end was upon them without having to look at them. Finally the dark orbs opened and easily he stepped up onto the bed grabbing their attention. "Matt?" He heard Amy gasp and before Adam could turn over the poker rose in the air then came down with a deadly arc spearing them together the tip hitting at Amy's heart and just above Adam's.
Standing there on the bed he watched the life drain from Amy's eyes and listened to Adam's final moments… it made Matt happy to know that he'd lived longer… that Adam had lived to see her die and know he was following her. Finally he jumped off the bed, but before leaving the room turned once more to look at the couple feeling no ounce of remorse at what he'd done. After all he reasoned to himself they started it… they betrayed him first.
Quickly he hurried around the house spreading gasoline and lighting it. As he walked back outside, his long black leather trench coat covering his jeans and muscle shirt an arrogant grin spread his lips as he ignored the splatters of blood covering his clothes and face. The wind blew his coat and in his mind he heard the whistle of some song… some sound you heard in every western ever made and he laughed proud of his work as his home exploded.
"Matt."
Hearing his name Matt turned and watched Shannon step out of the shadows and grinned almost bouncing that he was able to share his victory with someone. "Shannon! My little M'F'er! Look at my victory! I showed them… V-1 overcame in the end! I told you it's all about Mattitude! Be loyal to me and I will take you to the top."
Shannon scowled angrily putting his hands behind his back. "Really? What exactly do you know about loyalty Matt? What does loyalty have to do with you turning your back on me when I needed you in WWE? What does loyalty have to do with you turning your back on your brother all for the bucks Vince was willin' to give you? When have you ever known anything about loyalty? This ain't about loyalty Matt… it's about you fuckin' losin' your Goddamn mind an' thinkin' you're some kind of freakin' God! Ya ain't God Matt, ya ain't even a halfway decent person. Now this…" Shannon took out a gun he'd stuck in the back of his jeans. "This is about loyalty. You've been judged Matt and found guilty of betraying us… for turning your back on us… this… this Matt is Karma biting you firmly on the ass."
Before Matt could speak Shannon pulled the trigger putting a bullet square through the front of his former friend's skull. "Loyalty…" Shannon huffed then walked to the car that backed out of the shadows and getting in leaned over to Jeff smashing their mouths together in a quick hard kiss. "Do you believe he said I should be loyal to HIM??" Shannon asked after sitting back up straight so that he could put on his seat belt watching Jeff put on his own. Jeff shook his head and rolled his eyes before putting the car in gear and backing up until they felt it run over his brother's prone body.
Giggling Jeff put a hand over his mouth and widened his eyes. "Oops!" Suddenly happy Shannon laughed and bounced turning on the radio and grinned at Jeff when Disturbed's Violence Fetish came on. "Hey Jeffy! When does justice become revenge?"
Jeff laughed and pressed is foot to the floor as the car shot forward running over Matt's body once more as sped away from the house. Turning his head Jeff grinned darkly pushing all thoughts of his brother out of his head forever. "When it starts to get fun!" The boys laughed and couldn't wait to get to Joe's so that they could tell him and Jas all about it.
The End!
