Chapter Four
The Secret Unveiled
Jay Jay poofed in where he felt Jeff's essence and stood back a ways as he watched Jeff shredding walls as if they were paper with his claws. As if feeling his presence Jay Jay watched Jeff turn and stare at him with his red eyes glowing eerily. For most, the threads of fear would be choking them at having such a being turning his unholy rage towards them, even those which are the unholy themselves. Jay Jay however had found like all vampires that his immortalness came with some gifts. Smiling softly he watched Jeff stare at him and could only imagine what was going on in his head.
"Why won't people ever listen to me?" Jeff hissed darkly and sighing Jay Jay shrugged wishing he knew. "People, in their will to help, sometimes overlook the possibility that they are in fact only doing more harm than good by pushing someone who does not want help." Jeff didn't immediately answer instead studied his new lover wondering what he was up to. "And you, my love, what are you here to push me to?"
Jay smiled softly and shook his head. "I am not here to push you to anything love. I am only here because you needed me. Beat me, bleed me, rage at me, love me… it is up to you what happens from here." Jeff hissed feeling the raging blood pouring through his veins beginning to cool. "It is my fault that he is the way that he is now," Jeff began and Jay Jay cocked his head at the unexpected statement. "Matthew?" He asked for clarification purposes only and Jeff nodded then began speaking slowly as if reliving the moment.
"Matthew was always the one that cared for us all… he and Sugar played Daddy and Mamma despite the existence of real parents in our lives. Matthew used to say that he and I were destined for something greater than that which we had then, but he just didn't know what. Daddy used to say that we were meant for nothing but to live our lives following his commands. He insisted that the only greatness we were meant for was to be his servants in an everlasting hell. He said that if we were good little bitches that he would see to it that we lived forever… but of course we knew that such a thing would not happen until we were too old to fight him."
"Shannon and I always shared a room and Matt and Shane each had their own rooms, but Matt and I were the oldest two and because of that we were… we had a bond. We each knew what was going on with the other. One night I woke up from a deep sleep. I couldn't figure out what had woken me up as the house was deathly silent. Slowly I roamed through the house looking for… something… anything that was out of order but everything seemed to be in its place."
"So like always when I didn't understand something I went to Matty's room. I remember how cold it was… like a tomb. There was a cemetery near by and it had several large tombs and one time in the winter Shannon and I got trapped in one of them. That night I thought of that day and night spent huddled in the tomb in the cemetery 'cause I never imagined that I would ever be that cold again, but I was wrong."
"Matty's room was… colder even thought it was the middle of August. I made my way to Matty's bed and sat on the edge by his head. I remember lifting my hand to shake him, but before I could touch him it was like there was someone there holding my arm so that I couldn't. No matter how hard I tried to touch him I couldn't. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up as I fought to get to Matty. Something in me knew that if I could just… touch him everything would be ok, but I couldn't. I was too weak, too scared, and too… late."
"Matty started screaming. All of a sudden with no warning he just… started screaming at the top of his lungs begging me, crying for me to help. I tired to get to him, to touch him, to reach him. I screamed at the top of my lungs. I cried, I called, I fucking BEGGED him to hear me, but it was like we were each encased in some glass… vault knowledgeable of the other's presence, but unable to communicate. Then all of a sudden it was done… or so we thought."
"The hand touching me disappeared, Matt sat up and looked at me really seeing me, then Shane and Shanny ran in. We thought it was done… we thought it was over." When Jeff lapsed into silence Jay Jay sat for awhile waiting patiently then thinking he needed a slight nudge spoke softly hoping not to disturb his concentration. "Why wasn't it done, Jeffy?"
"Matt began to change… mentally and physically. His stomach began to grow and his mind began to… I took him, one night in the dead of the night. I'd been having dreams… terrible dreams of death, Matty's death and one of two babies. Matty was having nightmares as well. Our father would appear in them beating him, raping him, demoralizing him."
"Matty would wake up and his body would be covered with bruises and welts and just whimpering with fear and anguish. Dad would appear to me as well telling me that it was my fault that this was happening because I hadn't fulfilled my destiny. He said that I was supposed to be the chosen one, but because I had chosen to… remain a child that they had to take Matthew instead. He said that I was to blame for it all and he was right that and everything else that happened to us as a result. It is and was all my fault."
"We wandered forever. I became the parent and Matty the child and then one morning we woke and everything was simply… changed. Matty's stomach was flat again and we were… no longer human. I remember it, but at the same time I don't. Not too long after that Marcus found us and said that he would protect us, but we never told him about any of the stuff that had happened. We knew that we couldn't. Not Shane, Not Shannon, not our new family. No one knows, but me and Matty… until you."
"Knows what Jeffy?" Jay Jay whispered suddenly afraid. "They have come. My father gave them life and my brother nurtured them. They have come and it will be the end of us all." Jay inched towards Jeff looking into the hazel eyes that did not see him. "Who has come Jeffy?"
"The babes," Jeff whispered. "The babes that should not be conceived… created of two men. One babe the greatest evil and the other the greatest good and it is my fault. We will all die and it will be my fault because I was not strong enough to stop them." Jay Jay grabbed Jeff's arms and shook him more terrified than he had ever been in his life. "STOP WHO FROM WHAT?" Jeff turned his head and looked at Jay Jay as if seeing him for the first time. "The sons of Satan… they have both babes. They have Gabriel." Jay Jay threw his head back and howled an unearthly sound knowing Jeff was right. They were all doomed.
Glenn, Marcus, Dave, and Sean's heads whipped up hearing the unearthly howl coming from the old farm house. Adam immediately got up and started to run inside, but was stopped by Marcus's orders. "YOU STAY PERIOD." Instead the four elders ran into the house finding Jay screaming at Jeff. Stepping forward Marcus grabbed Jay and shook him ordering him to tell him what was going on. Knowing he had no other choice Jay Jay did as he was told repeating the story that Jeffrey had told him.
When he got to the end the elders were so angry that they were speechless. The though of evil possessing the child of goodness was a thought scary enough to frighten even the toughest of them. Marcus immediately ordered Jeffrey what he was thinking in keeping this secret so long, but the young man remained silent staring forward. Enraged at the outright disobedience Marcus lifted his arm to strike the young man, but was stopped by Sean who had not taken his eyes from Jeff's face.
Glenn stepped forward growling angrily that Sean would dare to step in and prevent the deserved punishment when Dave then stopped him. "GODDAMNIT YOU TWO STOP!" Sean unfazed by Marcus' anger spoke quietly not wanting to startle Jeff. "Damnit Marcus LOOK at him. HE ain't fucking here. HE probably don't really remember. That isn't HIM that told that story." Shaking free of Dave's grasp Glenn grunted nodding finally seeing what the other brothers had. "Then who is it?"
Sean moved Marcus out of the way and stepped up in front of Jeffrey sighing softly. "There are some things in life that you can't change. Jeffrey was to be the babies mother for a reason. HE is who Gabriel bonded with in the netherworld and by changing the carrier they succeeded in changing only that. It is still Jeffrey that the baby is bonded with and it is Jeffrey that the baby would speak to." Marcus shook his head looking at Jeffrey astonished. "Wait are you saying…" Dave nodded knowing that his brother was right. "Yes. That isn't Jeffrey speaking it is Gabriel. The babe still lives."
