Notes: OK… I watched PotC the other day and have had this Will muse stuck in my head chattering. I finally decided to let him speak and it seems he brought Jack and Elijah with him. A note of explanation… Elijah is in the story as himself… sorta… meaning I am calling him Elijah Wood, but he is playing a part in the PotC realm. So while I am using his name he is a character just as Jack and Will are… So now that everyone's confused…. Enjoy.

Will sat at the end of the dock staring out at the vast sea. Somehow the life he had imagined wanting wasn't quite what he'd expected it to be once he'd actually gotten it. Elizabeth was… well frankly she was a pain in the ass. There wasn't any way he could have listened to her bitching and whining one more second. Her father was completely useless and deserved nothing more than to meet the end of a nice sharp blade. His precious daughter had been spoiled rotten and once the dust had settled and their lives had settled into a nice smooth sail Will had been dismayed to find out underneath that sweet façade she was a complete spoiled bitch.

Fortunately for him Norrington had been exactly what he'd expected someone of his type to be and it hadn't been hard for Will to catch him playing pirate with his "sweet" fiancé. Apparently Elizabeth had some kind of treasure hidden on her body that the dear captain felt the need to plunder. Will shivered and made a face thinking that was one naked man he never wanted to see again in his life. Jack…

Will's head dropped as he pictured his sweet pirate, and his heart grew heavy knowing that he'd wronged the man terribly. Jack had probably been the first and truest friend Will had ever had and yet almost from the start Will had treated him with very little of the respect he'd deserved. He'd acted just like all those people who'd looked down upon him his whole life, Will had looked at Jack and judged the pirate as somewhere beneath Will in life's hierarchy. Forget the friendship he'd offered without question or second thought, forget the heritage he'd returned to him, forget the long nights of love on the sea that they'd spent naked and wrapped up in each others arms, when it had come time to make a stand Will had abandoned his dear pirate for the undeserving wench too afraid of their love to be as bold as Jack.

As if being a pirate hadn't been vilification enough in the eyes of the "civilized" folk that Will seemed to always find himself surrounded with, being a GAY pirate had been even worse. Never would Will forget that look in Jack's eyes when finally he'd sailed away standing on the deck looking at him as if Will had torn his heart out. The urge to run after him and declare he'd made some horrendous mistake stuck with him to this day. Maybe it was time that he stopped resisting and give in. He had some plundering of his own he wanted to do.

It hadn't been easy finding Jack's lair, but eventually Will's determination had paid off. Several long and hard months of searching endless islands trying to remember just the right one that housed his dear pirate captain finally paid off and Will found himself standing on the shore of a small island looking up at what appeared to be a grand estate. The long exhausting months of endless worry and self doubt caught up to him in that moment and Will found his view blurry from the tears that filled his eyes.

"What ye doin' here Will?" He heard a familiar voice ask and turning his head found Mr. Gibbs watching him with a look half made of sadness and half of disappointment.

"I've come to speak to Jack," Will said lifting his chin in defiance, hoping he looked surer than he felt. "I've come to cry his pardon and beg him to forgive me for my foolish ways."

"Three years is a long time ta wait lad. If ya care about ol' Jack at all you'll climb back aboard that ship of yers and sail away before he lands an eye on ya. His heart's barely over your last betrayal I ain't fer sure he can handle another one."

Shifting uncomfortable Will gritted his teeth trying to ignore the pang of pain in his gut the older man's words caused. "I've not come to cause my dear pirate more pain. I've come to tell him I was a fool and beg for another chance."

"How convenient of ya now that Jack's out of the eye of them previous uppity folks of yers. What do ya expect? Jack ta hid out here on his island where you may grace him with yer presence once every decade or so? Jack's a proud man lad an' he's forfeited enough of it on yer behalf as it is. Do ya think he's just been layin' around pinin' away for ya? He's got a new one now and they've finally gotten past the great ghost of Will Turner. I say lad if ya care about him at all ye'll leave now! Leave before he sees ya!"

In all the months he'd been searching for this place never once had it occurred to him that Jack might have moved on. Why should it after all? Jack had sworn their love would last forever and yet three little years later he'd shacked up with the first pretty face he'd found.

"Not fair," Will's conscience scolded him. "What were you doing while Jack was doing this shacking up? I do believe you've done some shacking up of your own and with the opposite sex even! At least Jack stuck firm to his guns and was unashamed of who he was. And what WOULD you do if it was more'n Jack's crew around? Your words are noble, but is your heart?"

Will's eyes lifted to look at the old pirate ashamed and desperate. If he'd really lost Jack, if their love was ruined forever by Will's foolish words and cowardly actions what would become of him? Now that he knew where he wanted to be, now that he understood how much Jack meant to him, whatever would he do without him?

"It's a little late for hidin the lad now Mr. Gibbs, I am not blind and I would have to be not to see that large ship blocking the view from my window."

Turning sharply Will's eyes widened as his dear pirate came into view. Standing as tall and proud as ever, only now there was a new ornament to his garb, off his elbow hung a lad young enough to appear an almost child. Big blue eyes, dark hair and porcelain skin created a beauty a man like Jack would never be able to resist, Will knew, especially once left alone.

Without thinking Will took a step toward the lad only wanting to get a closer look at this youngster who had taken his spot, but stopped seeing the fright in the boy's eyes. When Jack stepped between them protectively Will looked up at his love and found himself wounded to see distrust in eyes that had once only looked upon him with love.

"I don't know what yer doin here Will, but if you have any rash notions of harming young master Wood here I'll have yer heart boiled in tar after I rip it from yer chest. The lad's suffered enough at the hands of yer kind and I won't let him suffer again."

This time Will felt the tears fall as the hard words from Jack tore his heart in two. Had he really wronged his pirate so terribly that the man thought him to be one of THEM? Unable to stop himself Will burst forward grabbing Jack's arms desperately. "Jack, I swear! I didn't come to hurt the boy. I mean no harm. I just… I…"

Will's gaze fell on startled blue eyes and he found himself lost for a moment. Mr. Gibbs was right. Jack had moved on. He'd moved away from his Will and toward this boy who obviously needed him so greatly. Who was he to tear this boy in two? Who was he to throw Jack's life into chaos once more? Who was he to make demands? Jack had offered him his love once and instead of protecting it and treasuring it, Will had taken it and used it them thrown it back in the pirate's face. Slowly all the bravado left Will taking his hopes and dreams with it.

The long nights on the restless seas and oceans had given him plenty of time to daydream of what their reunion and life after would be like. Always they'd been happy and content cradled within the wonder of each other's love, but Will now recognized how foolish he'd been. Jack always told him he was too often rash in his actions and once again it seemed he was right.

Despondent Will let go of Jack and stepped backward slowly watching the shock form on the boy's face as he turn his eyes to the ground unable to look at his pirate again. "I am sorry Jack. I did not come to hurt you anymore, I… I just wanted to beg your pardon. I was wrong for what I did, for what I said, for not being man enough to stand up for our love. My father would be ashamed of me, I know. You were right. I couldn't be happy with Elizabeth, because she wasn't you. Her spit and fire turned into bitchiness. Her light turned dark as it became apparent her need to be the center of attention would rule our lives. She was better suited to Norrington after all, as I was better suited to my dear sweet pirate.

"But I have not the right to ask for another chance or to expect a pardon to come from your loving lips. I don't deserve your touch on my body once more, I don't deserve your kind words of love whispered in my ear. I will take your leave. I promise I won't tell anyone of your boy. I would die before causing either you or him further harm. But… you're wrong about one thing Jack. I am not one of them. I am a pirate."

Lifting his head Will gritted his teeth once more unable to look his love in the eyes. "I am a pirate and they will ever lay eyes upon me again unless it is the end of my cannons blowing up their ships."

Turning Will intended to leave, but found his grand exit stopped by a firm hand on his arm. "Such rashness young Will, will you never learn the art of patience? Give an' old pirate a moment will you? I'm not as quick on my feet as I once was ya savy?"

Frowning confused Will eyed Jack not sure what was happening. Hearing a giggle he turned his gaze to Jack's blue eyed boy and he couldn't resist the smile that spread his lips. Quickly gazing back at Jack he saw the sparkle returned there as he watched his lover gaze upon this boy and knew whatever happened he would have to find a way to keep him in their lives… even if it meant that Will had to share Jack's attention.

"What say you master Wood? Should we keep my errant blacksmith or throw him in the cove with the anchor tied to his feet?"

Giggling again Elijah looked Will up and down mischief coloring his gaze. "Well I'd say throw him in the cove for the pain he caused you my eagle, but then the water would only come up to his chest and I don't feel like making the men carry up water for his bath once you change your mind. So we might as well keep him. You've always said Will and I would make fast friends. Do you think he'd REALLY teach me to use a sword?"

Bowing comically at the young man who giggled again Jack turned his head and winked at Will who had to fight to stop the grin that wanted to break out. "I think my little Lijah that my Blacksmith would be a most excellent teacher for you and if you lavish enough praise upon him for his… blade work… he would happily teach you how to… use your sword."

Will blushed lightly and the boy giggled yet again as he bounced up and threw his arms around the embarrassed man. "OH he was right! I can't wait to get to know you! We will be fast friends indeed. And don't worry! I will share Jack with you. After all a pirate as great as Captain Jack Sparrow should not be limited to just one wench ya savy?"

Jack's laugh was irresistible and Will couldn't help but joining him as he pulled the boy into his arms. He couldn't wait to hear this boy's story and learn how he had come to be such an important part of his lover's life. Feeling familiar arms fall around them, Will lifted his eyes to see Jack's brown orbs watching him intently. "Welcome home William. Welcome home." Dropping his head to Jack's shoulder Will tightened his grip and knew finally he was indeed home.
