I sat on the couch watching him destroy himself. Nothing I could do or say would make him stop. Scratch after scratch blood gushed from his arm. I closed my eyes to erase the vision in front of me. When I finally opened them I found him standing in front of me.
"Join me" He said handing me the razorblade.
Throwing it back it him I yelled "STOP IT!" His dark eyes locking with my hazel ones. "Don't you see this is our escape? After leaving this sick sad world we'll be together forever without temptation." He calmly explained taking my arm and running the blade down it. The pain was unlike any I've ever felt before. Pulling my arm back quickly I left the apartment; leaving him alone and confused.
I decided to take a walk around Central Park. Thinking about what I could do to solve this dilemma. My choices were very limited. I could either kill myself with him, or let him kill himself and lose the only person I'll ever love. After giving it one quick thought, I decided to live with or without him. I say that now but will it be easier said than done?
After getting a late night meal and a stale lemon bar, I decided to head back over to the apartment. When I opened the door surprise, surprise - Hunter wasn't dead yet. Instead he was dressed in all black; I thought it was strange that he looked like he was dressed for a funeral.
"Who died?" I joked. Obviously he didn't find it funny,
"No one *yet*" He spat.
His voice was cold and yet eerily soothing. He walked toward me, still with that damn razor in his hand. "Answer me one question, Randy." He demanded. "Won't you die tonight for love?" I didn't answer - Hell, I couldn't answer! It was a two sided question. If I said no, he'd get offended and think I didn't love him. But if I answered yes he'd tell me to prove it. He must've seen the answer on my face because he handed me the thin piece of metal and whispered in my ear "Baby join me in death." Then he flashed me a wicked grin.
Handing the blade back to him "You first" I replied. He snatched the thin metal out of my hand, he does it again. Only this time he does it with force. I could see the blood starting to pour out as he tore through his flesh. "Join me. Join me. Join me. Join me." He began chanting, almost singing it to me. After he was done slicing his arm, he laid on the floor and said "This life aint worth living." Those were Hunter's final words before he died.
-- * -- End of Memory --*--
Randy shook his head trying to get rid of the image of his boyfriend committing suicide. Even though it happened two years ago, he still remembered it as if it were yesterday, Picking up the exact same blade Hunter killed himself with; Randy lowered it to his wrist. "This life aint worth living." He whispered. He ran the blade on his wrist, slitting his vein and artery.
Finally Hunter and Randy would be together forever.
