"I hate you." Jared groaned and dropped the Xbox controller. He was pretty sure there wasn't a single video game in Blockbuster he hadn't rented and beaten already. He'd even stolen Megan's Nintendo DS and played her Hannah Montana game last week. Yeah, he was desperate. On the upside, he did get to drive over to Austin last week and win his bet against Mike. But even that wasn't as fun without Jensen there to cheer him on.
"Dude, it's not my fault I got laid last night and you didn't. You're the one that decided to be all monogamous," Jeff wrinkled his nose and rolled his eyes. One day he was really going to fall for some girl and Jared was going to laugh. A lot. "Even though your boyfriend is gone for two months partying across the county."
"He's not just partying." Except that sometimes it seemed like he was. Sure, they talked every night just like Jensen promised, but at least a fourth of the time he was drunk or planning to get drunk later that night.
"Hey, I don't need to be making plans to kick his ass, do I?" Jeff frowned and pushed aside the various delivery boxes on the coffee table as he searched for the remote.
Tomorrow, Jared was going to help clean Jeff's apartment. Sure, technically Jared was living with his parents for the summer, and he really did sleep there most nights. But mostly when he wasn't working, he was hanging out at Jeff's apartment so his parents couldn't ask him why he hadn't gone out with any girls all summer. He loved his mom, but he didn't need to hear anymore about how surely he must have met some girls. Of course he met girls. Working as a lifeguard in a gym pretty much guaranteed meeting girls. Hell, he should have known better since last summer the job had different girls asking him out every day. If he hadn't been determined to start college fresh and not in a long distance relationship, he could've had a girlfriend before he even started college.
"No. I know everything he's doing. I just kinda wish I wasn't the one stuck living with my parents all summer."
"But he's still calling right? Or you're calling? How do you guys decide which one of you calls anyway? How does it work with no girl in the relationship?"
"One, it's not that hard. If I'm working, I call when I have time. If Kane has a show, he calls when he has time. Two, there are about four girls in the relationship. We just don't have sex with any of them."
"That's really pathetic. Tell me you're at least getting phone sex."
"Why would you want to know that?"
"I'm just worried about your sanity. I kind of got the impression you were getting laid pretty often before. You can't just go cold turkey."
"I really don't want to know how you got the impression. But don't worry. My sanity is safe." Jared forced himself not to grin at the thought. He really did not need to think about the phone sex from a few days ago while he was hanging out with his brother. Though it didn't hurt to remind himself that even with all the drinking and partying and driving across the country with Chris, Jensen made sure to send Chris to the bar with Steve every few days while he stayed back at the motel and called Jared.
"Great. Wait. You aren't doing that tonight when you're crashing on my couch are you? Because that is really not allowed."
"On your couch? When you could just stumble out of your room at any point because you had a craving for leftover pizza? No. It's Chris's birthday. He called earlier. If he calls again, it'll be a drunk-dial."
"Dude, how have Mom and Dad not noticed how much you get drunk-dialed at night?"
"My room is really far from theirs? Besides, Amanda and Alexis drunk dial me just as much as he does."
"Right. Which reminds me-I'm still pissed that you went to Houston and partied with that girl for three days and didn't invite me. Jerk."
"You can't hook up with Alexis. It's still creepy if you hook up with anyone I've been with."
"This is the real reason you went gay, right? You realized that it was the only way to find someone I hadn't hooked up with."
"No. I could've gone after Sandy. She thinks you're annoying." Jared laughed as he ducked away from the empty beer can Jeff threw at his head.
~*~
Jared groaned as he sat up and tried to find his phone among the cans and bottles on Jeff's coffee table. Why did his parents let him hang out with Jeff? He was a really bad influence, and it was his fault Jared spent way too much of the summer hung over.
"'ello?"
"Shit. I woke you up."
"S'okay." Jared fumbled for his watch. Four a.m. Which made it two a.m. in California? Why did he always say it was okay again?
"I miss bein' there when you're wakin' up." Jensen slurred and well, that was the answer right there. Sure, Jensen was getting better at the whole communicating thing. Pretty much the only positive part of this long-distance thing was that when they couldn't do anything but talk on the phone, Jensen pretty much had no other choice except to talk. But he still didn't say things like that without a little alcohol.
"It's just a couple weeks and you'll be back."
"And I'm making Chris ride with Steve so I can just go straight to pick you up. Lots of sex, right?"
"Yeah dude. Lots of sex. Though I don't know how Chris is going to like that."
"He can get over it. Sandy showed up for his birthday and he's making me sleep in Steve's room."
"So? You guys are always switching up who rooms with who anyway."
"So Steve's been moody all night. I don't know what the fuck his problem is. It's not like he really hates Sandy. It's kind of impossible to hate Sandy and he's trying not to ruin Chris's birthday with his bad mood, so he just bitched to me all night. I want to find this girl he's in love with that won't go out with him and tell her how much shit she's making us deal with."
Jensen sighed into the phone and Jared was tempted to share some of his own theories on the subject. Jensen had cornered Steve months ago after Steve was less than welcoming to Sandy and demanded some kind of explanation for Steve's sudden personality shift. All he'd managed to get out of Steve was that whoever Steve wanted, Steve couldn't have, and it didn't help to have all his friends coupling up.
"So where's Steve now?"
"In the room. I'm in the hall."
"There's an inside hallway?" Usually they saved money by stopping in the kind of cheap motels where all the doors opened to the outside.
"Yeah. Because Sandy showed up and Chris didn't wanna put her in a dump. Steve bitched so much that Chris offered to pay the difference on everyone's rooms." Jensen yawned out the last few words.
"You should go inside before you pass out in the hallway."
"Tryin' to get rid of me?"
"Tryin' to make sure you live to see me again."
"It's a Holiday Inn, dude. You worry too much." Sober Jensen would be rolling his eyes, but Jared was pretty sure drunk Jensen was smiling.
~*~
When Jared showered and changed back into jeans and a t-shirt after work the next day, he had two voicemails.
The first was from Sandy.
Jared. Call me as soon as you get this so I can tell you how damn stupid our boyfriends are when left alone for too long. I swear, I'm flying you out here so I'm not the only mean one, because you damn well better yell at Jensen for this. Not that I didn't already yell at him myself but it's better if you do it too. And yell at Chris and Steve too. They're all idiots.
The second one was from Jensen.
I don't care what Sandy says. Call me back before you call her back. It's not such a big deal. I swear, baby. Just call me back first and I'll explain.
Okay, so he really shouldn't panic. After all, there were levels of stupid. If Jensen crossed anywhere into the realm of cheating, Sandy wouldn't tell him like this and really, Chris and Steve wouldn't let that happen.
Still, he wasn't having this conversation in the gym or while he was driving. At least he knew his parents were going out tonight, and they wouldn't be home for a few more hours. Megan would be, but she'd actually been pretty amazing all summer so if this did turn into a big fight, maybe it wouldn't be so bad to have her around.
Of course, that didn't mean he wanted Megan to pounce on him the second he came through the door.
"Hey, can you take me to the mall tomorrow? Jamie said Karen said Alex was taking Jessica to the movies tomorrow even though he asked me to go on Friday and I have to know if it's true."
"If I say yes, will you leave me alone so I can call Jensen back and find out why Sandy left me a voicemail telling me to yell at him?"
"Shit. Yeah. But I'm yelling at him too if he did something that makes you all pouty again. That was just annoying."
"Deal." Jared agreed even though that was kind of evil. Megan had this really high-pitched shriek that could take your ears out. Still, he closed the door to his room as he hit the speed dial for Jensen. It was a little too early to sentence Jensen to that shriek.
"Hey, look. Sandy is really over-reacting and this is really all Steve's fault."
"That might be more of a comfort if I didn't know the only reason you're telling me whatever you did is because Sandy will tell on you if you don't."
"I'm sorry?" Jensen sounded miserable and Jared already wanted to ease up. Except that he knew Jensen and he knew that was exactly what Jensen wanted. If he eased up, he'd end up forgiving Jensen before he even knew what happened.
"Just tell me what happened."
"Okay, okay. What's so stupid is that this happened weeks ago and obviously, we're all fine now. It's just that we've been using Steve's camera to tape most of this trip and Chris was showing some of the videos to Sandy. Steve was supposed take this one out but he didn't. He probably did it on purpose just to prove something. I don't know. Maybe he planned it all along because it was his stupid idea."
"Jensen, there is video of you suggesting it." Sandy's voice cut in from the background. "Don't you even try or I'm putting the video on YouTube for Jared to see."
"I was joking! Steve was the one that said he should actually do it." Jensen argued, and Jared could a door opening and closing-probably to keep Sandy from cutting in again.
"Please tell me you are fully dressed in this video."
"What? Yes. Fully dressed. And sober. We were all sober and actually I'm not even in the video. I had the camera. Steve was driving."
"You guys were driving? Okay, now I'm just confused. Start from the beginning."
"Okay. Okay. It was a few weeks ago, after the shows in San Antonio and Dallas when we had miles and miles of Texas to cross before our next show. We were driving for two days and we kept switching around who was in which car when we stopped. So Teddy was driving my truck with the trailer and I was in the van with Chris and Steve and it was just really long and boring and you know, the heat was probably making us a little insane by then."
"Get to the point." For someone who didn't like to talk Jensen sure could say a lot when he didn't want to get where he was going.
"You said to start from the beginning."
"Fine, but move on."
"Well, Chris was bitching because he was in the back and those windows don't really roll down all the way, so I said, 'If you want more air, why don't you just ride on the hood.' Obviously, I was not serious."
"You guys did not drive around, on the highway, with Chris on the hood of the van."
"It wasn't a main highway with a lot of people driving around."
"So when I see this video, it will at least be daylight and there won't be any other cars."
"There might be a few and it might be at night."
"Jensen! You guys could've crashed, which would have really killed Chris, and maybe both of you. How the fuck could Steve even see the road with Chris on the hood?"
"Chris could see? And we could hear him?"
"So you guys thought it would be fun to drive around, at night, on a two lane highway, in the middle of nowhere, with Chris on the hood directing Steve where to go from outside?" Jared was really glad they lived through it so he could kill all three of them. With Sandy's help. Multiple times.
"But we're fine! Nothing happened. We pulled over and he got back in the car."
"Because y'all were lucky! Damnit, didn't anyone think that maybe this wasn't the best way to amuse yourselves?"
"I know. It was kind of stupid, but we're fine."
"What if I went out and decided to let Jeff drive around San Antonio with me on the hood of his car?"
"Jeff would never let you do that and I was not the one outside."
"So it's okay if you kill Chris?"
"I didn't say that! I'm sorry. We're all idiots, okay?"
"Let me talk to Sandy."
"She already hit me a million times, dude."
"Let me talk to Sandy, or I'll just hang up with you and call her."
"Fine, fine." Jensen grumbled as Jared heard the door open again.
"Please tell me you yelled at him. Did he tell you the part about how Chris cut his hand holding on when he almost fell off the car?"
"No. Don't punch him, but hit him in the arm a couple times for me."
"Ow! She's hit me already, damnit!" Jensen complained in the background.
"Jared told me to."
"Okay, give the phone back. I'm letting Megan shriek at him. Don't warn him, but I'm also calling Alexis later and telling her."
~*~
Jared knew something was wrong the second Jensen's name flashed on the screen of his cell phone. Jensen was supposed to be busy until late at night when Jared could expect a drunk dial.
California was the last part of the tour but also the most packed. In the past two weeks, Kane had played one show in Sacramento, four shows in L.A., and two in San Diego. All that was left were three shows in San Francisco, and then Jensen would be back on the road to him. Then they'd have a couple weeks off before ending the tour with one more show in San Antonio and a couple back home in Austin. But really, what mattered was that Jensen would be back at least two days before Jared's birthday.
"Hey, aren't you guys supposed to be meeting people at the club for the show tonight?"
"Yeah. There's kind of a problem and I'm really sorry. I tried everything. I swear." Jensen sounded about ten times worse than after the whole car-surfing thing.
"What happened?" Jared's voice caught a little. Did something happen to Sandy or one of the guys? No, Jensen didn't sound quite that bad.
"We've just been playing so many shows lately and you know Chris hasn't been feeling so well and I sang half of both shows in San Diego to give him a break. But now he's lost his voice anyway. I offered to sing all the shows in San Francisco but they say Kane isn't Kane without the Kane part and apparently they think he has this huge following here. They say the contract says it's Chris and Steve. So, Chris and Steve both have to be singing."
"But they can't make his voice come back."
"No, but they have our whole schedule. They knew we didn't have another show for three weeks, so they just suggested new dates. To give Chris time to get his voice back."
"You won't be back for my birthday." He tried not to sound as crushed as he was. He really did. Except that he'd waited all summer and gotten permission to go to Austin for his birthday since he barely talked to any of his friends from high school anymore, and sure, Alexis would probably invite him to Houston or he could still go hang out with Mike but it wasn't going to be the same.
"I'm sorry. I tried to book a plane back when I found out one of the shows was on your birthday and one was after it, but the prices have just shot up. And for some reason the train isn't running on the right dates. I can still try to get a bus and I might make it."
"No. A bus for that long would be awful."
"It's your birthday."
"And on your birthday I got into a fight with your ex-boyfriend. We'll call it even."
"You also gave me a really awesome blowjob."
"Well, then you can make up for it when you get back. I'll be okay. Really. My mom will be thrilled to have me around."
~*~
When Alexis showed up in San Antonio three days before his birthday, he probably should've been suspicious. But she rolled her eyes, hugged him and told him she knew she was a poor substitute, so he figured she was actually telling the truth about keeping him from moping through his birthday. She even promised to flirt with Jeff and then not hook up with him.
Of course, his mom loved her and knew that he'd been hanging out with her all summer, and she wouldn't stop asking Jared why things couldn't work out with the two of them. Somehow he thought it would be wrong to explain that Alexis didn't want to lose the freedom to sleep around whenever she wanted and well, he was also kind of in love with her very male best friend. So he just told his mom for the millionth time that they just didn't have chemistry and were better off as friends.
His first clue that something was a little off was waking up to Alexis jumping on his bed at six in the morning. His birthday was in three days. He already had five days off that he was supposed to be spending in Austin. There was no reason he shouldn't be sleeping in and really, Alexis had the same sleeping schedule as Jensen. Apparently it was developed from lots of time sleeping together before Jared came along-which really should freak him out more than it did.
"Time to get up! If I'm up, you have to get up. We're going to Houston."
"Why?"
"To party for your birthday. Hurry. Your mom made breakfast." With that, Alexis jumped back off the bed, pulling the blankets with her in case he decided to pass out again.
There was a suitcase already packed by the door when he made it to the kitchen.
"When did you steal all my clothes and pack for me?"
"Last night while you were sleeping. Jeff and your mom helped. It's so cute that your mom still buys your underwear."
"I hate you."
"You love me. Now eat. We have to leave here by seven."
"Why? Why on earth do we have to be in Houston at a certain time?"
"Because I have plans." Alexis smirked and really, his only comfort was that Jeff and his parents must actually know about these plans if they were letting her do this.
~*~
Jared was really going to die before he ever turned nineteen. Alexis was the worst driver in the world, and she had already cut off a police officer.
"Okay. We're in Houston, but this is not the way to your house. When are you going to tell me where you're taking me?"
"I'm not. I'm waiting for you to figure it out."
"I should just call Jensen and ask him."
"Feel free."
"You lied to him about where you're taking me didn't you?"
"Maybe." Alexis grinned and switched lanes again.
"Do my parents know?"
"Kind of."
"Does Jeff know?"
"Yeah. He refused to help me talk your parents into it unless he knew exactly what we were doing."
At least he could always count on his brother to not let some crazy girl drive him out to the middle of nowhere and kill him.
"Wait. We? If Jensen doesn't know, who else is planning this?"
"Chris. Well, now Sandy, Allie, Amanda, and Pete are in on it, but mostly it's me and Chris."
"I've never even met this Pete guy. All I know is that Jensen used to sleep with him. That doesn't really make it better. And I've never seen you team up with Chris for anything good."
"That was forever ago. You'll like Pete. I promise. And I don't know what you're talking about. We only team up when absolutely necessary for the greater good."
"Dude! You just took the exit to the airport!"
Alexis just laughed and kept driving.
"We're going to San Francisco. Come on! That's gotta be it."
"Well, you're going. I'm just the taxi. And don't you dare call Jensen. This is a surprise. If you call him it will kill all the fun."
"Okay, I don't get it. Why not just fly Jensen here? Did Chris even really lose his voice?"
"Yeah, he did. And Jensen has made him feel like total shit about it since. He did try to fly Jensen back first, but for some reason flights from San Francisco are insane but flights to San Francisco and back on the right days were a lot cheaper. Even then Chris had to fly you out of Houston and that's how I got involved."
"You guys did all of this? Just so I could see Jensen on my birthday?" Jared could feel the smile covering his face.
"And so Jensen could see you. He's been a total ass since he found out he had to wait longer to see you again and you've just been pouting this whole summer. I guess Mike and I can't make up for everyone else all by ourselves."
"No. You guys are awesome. It's just most of the time I'm still in San Antonio by myself and it's like Jeff and Megan are the only people that know me here anymore."
"You haven't thought about telling your parents yet?"
"I've thought about it. I just don't really know how and I still have no idea what they'd think." Jared frowned as he went back to the problem he'd had all summer.
"Well, don't worry about it now. Get on the plane and go have sex with Jensen. He's so miserable I'm starting to think he's going to kill Chris. Which would be funny for me and I don't normally mind being his favorite for a little while, but Chris and Steve are pretty much his only family. They need to start getting along again or he's going to go insane." Alexis smiled and handed him a printout as she pulled up. "Your plane leaves at eleven fifteen. Don't warn Jensen or we'll find out and Chris will not be happy when you get there. Sandy will meet you at the airport."
~*~
Jared wasn't even feeling the lack of sleep as he tried to find Sandy at baggage claim in San Francisco. He was bouncing on his feet, ready to see Jensen. His bag had already come down the carousel and now all he could do was wait for Sandy.
"Jared!"
He turned around and Sandy was running toward him and jumping into his arms. Last time he saw her, he was hugging her goodbye before Jeff drove him back to San Antonio. Sure, they talked on the phone all summer, but now her hair was longer, and two months in California had left her with a deep tan.
"Man, how long have you known about this? I can't believe you let me think I was spending my birthday alone all this time."
"Since Chris started trying to work it out. It took him a few days to figure out how it could work, and then Alexis had to talk Jeff into it so he'd talk your parents into it."
"What exactly do my parents think anyway?" They sure as hell didn't think he was flying out to have a lot of sex with Jensen.
"That you've been missing all your friends all summer. And most of them were supposed to be back last week so we could have a big party for you, but then Chris lost his voice so we got stuck here. They know as much as Jeff could tell them without mentioning that Jensen's your boyfriend."
"So your car's here?"
"You're just dying to get to Jensen aren't you?" Sandy smiled and started to pull him toward a parking lot. "Sorry, I just took the BART to meet you. So we have to take that back to the hotel. It's not in the best part of town, but it's not too expensive and it's actually really cool."
~*~
Sandy wasn't lying about being in a bad part of town. He was ready to kill Chris until she assured him that Chris took the BART part of the way to the airport with her and came back. But the hotel was old and historical and when he walked inside he couldn't believe this hotel was in the same area.
But really, the hotel could be a dump on the side of the road as long as Jensen was somewhere in it.
"Come on, Jensen's up in your room with Chris. He thinks we only got him his own room so that we could have sex."
"Wait. You guys are having sex? Since when?"
"Since tonight. Or that's the plan. Though Chris doesn't actually know that's the plan yet."
"Why tonight?"
"Well, it was supposed to be earlier, but then he got sick. And then Jensen made it his personal mission to keep anyone from having fun if he couldn't have fun."
"So I'm really here so you can get laid?"
"Hey, we're just all happy you're here, okay?" Sandy smiled as they stepped out of the elevator and motioned for him to follow her down the hall.
"Hey man, get the door." Chris called when he knocked and it was really wrong no one gave him a key. He'd really waited long enough.
"You get the damn door. It's probably your girlfriend." Really if Jensen had been this pissed off for two weeks, it was no wonder they flew him across the country.
"And I have to clean up the mess you made when you spilled your drink all over the floor, so you get the door."
He could hear Jensen groan and complain, but then the door opened and Jensen was there, right in front of him and explanations could wait. Right now he just wanted to feel Jensen against him. His hands found Jensen's hair and pulled him forward until their lips met. He really didn't care where Sandy and Chris were anymore. They'd get the point and go make their own fun soon enough. Jensen moaned into his mouth and pulled him closer, opening his lips and swiping his tongue into Jared's mouth.
"We'll just be leaving now." Chris chuckled and pushed past them as Jensen pulled him to the bed. At least Jensen waited until the door closed to start pulling up his shirt.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Jensen asked when they were forced to pull apart so Jensen could get his shirt off.
"I didn't know. Alexis just drove me to the airport and handed me a ticket this morning. She and Chris set up the whole thing." Jared finally got Jensen's shirt off and over his head so they could come back together.
"Guess I have to forgive Chris now. And buy Lexi some shoes or something." Jensen smiled and went back to kissing down his neck, searching out his favorite spot again and sucking.
"Dude, I cannot go home with a hickey. How would I explain that?" Jared laughed and tried to pull away. Jensen had calmed down a lot since they started dating and the hickies had stopped being such a problem. Mostly Jared could talk him into marking his chest or his thighs or somewhere people wouldn't see, but that didn't mean Jensen's interest in marking his territory had disappeared all together.
"How long are you here?"
"Four days."
"It'll be gone by then." Jensen looked up at him and Jared was pretty sure the reason Alexis was immune to his eyes was that she'd been subjected to Jensen's. Just because Jensen didn't use them as often, didn't make them any less lethal.
"And you aren't going to put it back every day?"
"I'll be good." Jensen breathed against his neck and pressed his tongue back against that spot of skin and okay, so maybe Jared didn't believe him, but he could always just say no tomorrow.
"Okay, okay. Do whatever you want."
"You know you want me to anyway." Jensen pressed his lips back down, biting a little as he started to fumble with the button on Jared's jeans.
"Maybe," Jared confessed as he worked on Jensen's jeans. They were both wearing way too many clothes. "Maybe you like it when I do whatever I want to you, too."
"Never said I didn't."
~*~
Jensen was watching him and running fingers through his hair when Jared woke up with his head pillowed on Jensen's chest.
"I don't like it when you wake up before me." It always reminded him of when Jensen broke up with him. Still, he snuggled closer into Jensen's arms. Sometimes he thought he missed this more than he missed the sex-though that might be because he just had sex a couple hours ago.
"Sorry. I don't usually take naps in the middle of the day. I only dozed off a little, but I didn't wanna wake you up."
"Alexis woke me up at six this morning to drive to Houston. It's her fault."
"S'okay. Figured I should let you rest before round two." Jensen pulled him up until their lips met. "And I'd really like to take some of the credit for wearing you out."
"Yeah. The blowjob in the shower after all the sex might've done me in, which technically, would make this round three."
"So you're up for round three then?" Jensen kissed him, slipping his tongue past Jared's lips as he ran a hand up the inside of Jared's thigh.
Jared hummed against him. Still somewhere in the back of his head, he knew there was something he wanted to talk to Jensen about. It was just hard to remember with Jensen's tongue in his mouth and Jensen's thumb making small circles up his thigh. Jensen whimpered in protest when he pulled back.
"Wait. Just give me a second."
"What's wrong?" Jensen pulled away and moved his hand back up to the safer territory of Jared's neck.
"Nothing. I just." There really wasn't a good way to say well I've kind of been wondering what it feels like to be fucked and I think I might want to do that but I'm really not sure.
"Jared?"
Great, now Jensen was freaking out and thinking he did something wrong.
"Don't freak out. It's not bad. Well, okay, I don't think you'll think it's bad and if you do then that's okay. We can just not do it, because really everything we do now is good anyway."
Jensen's worried expression softened into amusement. The same amusement from when Jared was trying to come out or the last time he tried to talk about sex.
"Never mind. You don't deserve to get laid."
"Hey! No. I'm not laughing at you. You're just so cute when you ramble like that. I've missed it."
"Uh huh."
"Come on, what do you wanna do? I really doubt I'm gonna say no." Jensen leaned down to kiss his chest again.
"But you've never brought it up."
"Jared, I'm still not sure exactly what we're talking about. But if I didn't bring it up, I just didn't want to push you. You've always told me when you're ready to try something new."
"There's not a lot we haven't done." Really, Jensen should've figured it out.
"There's actually quite a few things we haven't done." Jensen smiled again but there was love in with the amusement. He would've felt stupid if he wasn't too busy wondering what all these other things were.
"So the question is, what do you want to do now?" Jensen punctuated the question with little kisses down his shoulder.
"I've just been wondering…what it's like for you…when we have sex."
"Really? That's…that's what you want to try? You're sure?" Jensen sat up, studying him.
"Um, well, I'm sure I want to try?"
"Okay." Jensen stroked a hand down his chest. "How about we start moving there and if you want to stop or slow down, you let me know? But you have to promise to let me know."
"Dude, I'd never let you do something I didn't want. I've told you that."
"I know. I know. But this is different. I mean, have you tried anything yourself?"
"What? Tried what myself?"
"Dude, we spent half the summer living off phone sex. You know I've fingered myself. It makes you crazy when I tell you about it. Though if you've been doing this and not telling me, that's really not fair because that is something I want to know about."
"Oh. Um, I haven't. I guess I wanted you to do it. I don't even know what I'm doing."
"But you want to try?" Jensen whispered and sucked Jared's earlobe into his mouth.
"Yeah." Jared's breath was harsh already.
"We're gonna go slow, okay?" Jensen kissed from his ear, over his jaw and locked eyes with him. "I'm not gonna hurt you. If you're too tense, we'll just try again later."
Jared nodded as Jensen's lips closed over his. Jensen kept the kiss long and deliberate before he trailed his hand down Jared's chest. Jensen didn't take control very often. Mostly he seemed to love leaving this to Jared. It was part of the reason Jared wasn't even sure he'd want to do this. But then there were the times Jensen had climbed on top and it didn't matter who was fucking whom, Jensen was obviously the one calling the shots.
So this wasn't really moving into new ground yet. It was actually more like the beginning when Jared had no idea what he was doing and Jensen pretty much had to lead the way.
Jensen licked down the crease at the top of his leg before taking Jared's cock into his mouth and sucking, then moved down to lick over and behind his balls. Fuck. If Jensen kept this up, he was going to lose it way before they got to the main event.
Jensen slipped a finger into his mouth, trailing over Jared's cock as he did and then moving down to trail behind Jared's balls. Then he moved back further, pressing behind his balls and pressing the pad of his finger against Jared. He tensed but pushed back, trying for more anyway. He could do this. Really, he could. But Jensen pulled back, letting Jared's cock slip out of his mouth and climbing back up Jared's body to suck at his neck. So much for not letting Jensen work on that hickey again. But really, this didn't count. It was technically the same day.
"Not yet. We're going slow remember? Turn over for me."
"But I," Jared started, but Jensen stopped him with a kiss.
"I know. I want to see your face, too. But I'm still getting you ready." Jensen kissed him again and eased him onto his stomach. "And I gotta get you to relax a little more if you want this to work."
"It doesn't take you this long." Really, he just wanted to be good at this from the beginning.
"It's harder the first time, when you don't know what it's going to feel like. I can relax because I know I love how you feel inside me. But the first time, it's just gonna take a little longer."
"Sorry. I'm trying to relax. I am."
"S'okay. We're gonna have fun getting there." Then Jensen's hands were running down his spine and rubbing at the small of this back. Jensen licked and kissed down his spine, stopping every once in a while to suck marks into his back.
"What're you doing?"
"Showing you one of those other things we haven't done yet." He could hear the smile in Jensen's voice as Jensen kissed the small of his back. "If you don't like it, just tell me to stop."
"Okay." Jensen had never really done anything he didn't like anyway. So he tried to relax as Jensen spread him open. He wasn't really sure what he was waiting for, probably a finger with some lube to work him open slowly and all that.
He really was not expecting to feel the wet heat of Jensen's tongue tracing around him.
"Fuck."
"Is that a good reaction or a bad one?" Jensen asked but then leaned back down again and licked over him again like he knew the answer. And okay, this was really new and kind of amazing…except that he still wasn't sure how he felt about Jensen licking his ass. "Relax. You just showered. It's fine."
Jared nodded into the pillow, because really, he didn't want Jensen to stop now that Jensen's tongue was pressing inside and licking him open. It was hot and wet and if this was what the new things they hadn't tried felt like, he really had a lot less to be nervous about than he thought. He was so busy trying to hold back his orgasm, he didn't have a chance to freak out and tense up when Jensen replaced his tongue with a finger.
"Fuck. Jensen. Oh god." Jared pushed back against him as electricity shot up his body, melting into his spine.
"That's what it feels like, baby. Fuck, you're so hot like this." Jensen slipped another finger in and it stung a little until he brushed against that spot again and now Jared just wanted more. Jensen coaxed him back over and reached for the lube on the bedside table. Jared gasped a little from the cold as Jensen's fingers pressed back in with lube, but before he could focus, Jensen was licking hot stripes over his cock. Fuck, he really didn't want to come until Jensen was actually inside him-meaning they really needed to move on. Jared pulled at Jensen's arm until he looked up.
"I'm good. Really. I want you." Jared cut off with a moan as Jensen's mouth found the side of his neck again. Jared reached over to the bedside table they'd dumped out his box of condoms on earlier and tried not to freak out as he rolled a condom over Jensen's cock and slicked lube over his cock.
Jensen kept eye contact as he pushed in and Jared took a little pleasure in the stress on Jensen's face as he forced himself to go slow. That was a feeling he was used to. But fuck was he glad that Jensen was going slow, because Jensen's cock was a lot different than Jensen's fingers.
"Fuck. You feel so good. You gotta breathe though. Take a deep breath."
Jared nodded and tried taking a few deep breaths until the burn eased up. It really wasn't like he thought it would be. Mostly he'd been freaking out about how much it would hurt and maybe it would hurt a lot more if Jensen hadn't been so careful, but instead it was just awkward and a little uncomfortable being filled up this way.
"Okay?" Jensen asked has he pushed in a little more.
"Yeah. It's just…"
"Weird? Yeah, give it a second. It'll get better."
"Yeah. Just keep going." Jared shifted his hips up, pushing Jensen all the way in. It wasn't awful, but it didn't really feel good anymore either. Mostly he couldn't get over the instinct that he should be trying to push Jensen out. Deep breaths. He just had to keep taking deep breaths and it would get better. There was no way Jensen had been faking how good this was for months.
"Just try to move a little when you're ready." Jensen must have superhuman powers because he managed to lean down and nip at Jared's neck without moving much. Jared shifted his hips, letting Jensen slip out a little before he pushed back in. It wasn't bad, but what he really needed was to get that angle that would push him over the edge.
"Okay, okay. Move. I'm okay."
Jensen nodded and pulled back, shifting his hips until…
"Yes. There. Right there." Jared moaned and pushed back, fucking himself harder on Jensen's cock. The uncomfortable feeling faded into the background a little more with each brush against his prostate. Jensen pressed closer, letting Jared's legs fit around his waist and trapping Jared's cock in the slick, sweaty heat between them.
Jared bucked up, fighting for more friction with each thrust until he was shaking and coming sticky and hot on his chest.
"Fuck Jared. So amazing. So fucking amazing." Jensen panted, leaving hot, quick puffs of air against Jared's neck and thrusting a few more times before tensing above him and falling apart.
Jensen collapsed against his chest gasping for breath as Jared stroked one hand over his back.
"Okay?"
"Yeah, yeah. Way better than okay."
~*~
Jensen was sleeping on his stomach with one arm draped over Jared's chest when Jared woke up. That was better. That was how things were supposed to be. Jared shifted closer and Jensen curled against his side without waking up. The Kane show wasn't until his birthday, so they had all day to just hang out, and Jared probably had as long as he wanted to lie there and watch Jensen sleep before kissing him awake.
He made it until noon before getting bored and moving down to lick into Jensen's mouth. Jensen kissed back, sighing as he pulled back and let his head fall back onto Jared's chest.
"Missed waking up like this," he mumbled, still half asleep.
"How long's that gonna last before it turns into, 'Too early; more sleep?'"
"Day or so."
"Guess I should enjoy it for now then," Jared chuckled, rubbing down Jensen's back as he woke up.
"Hum." Jensen reached out and ran a lazy hand over his bicep. "You got bigger over the summer."
"How did you ever date girls and not get slapped?"
"I'm really hot. And you know what I meant. Did you do nothing but work out all summer?"
"I work at a gym, so I can use everything for free. Haven't had much else to do all summer anyway." Jared shrugged. Coming out to his college friends was easy. They all wanted him to make out with Jensen from the beginning. But his high school friends? He wasn't even sure what they'd say if they found out about Jensen and if they freaked out, they might tell their parents, who might tell his parents. So it was just easier to avoid them all together.
"Sorry," Jensen mumbled into his chest and this was exactly why he tried not to mention it to Jensen much. Jensen always wanted to take the blame for everything.
"No big deal. I got to visit Mike and Lexi a lot. You really need to meet Mike's new girlfriend. She's insane. I think she might actually be the one. Last weekend, they were trying to spit tic tacs into each others' mouths across a parking lot. They both thought this wasn't weird at all."
"Yeah, Tom seems to like her." Jensen ran his hand over the muscles of Jared's chest. "Still, I know it's sucked for you most of the summer."
"What? You don't like it? Too bulky?" He was joking when he said it, but as it came out of his mouth, he started to worry. He was already taller than Jensen and he knew Allie wasn't wrong when she said he had to watch how much he stood up for Jensen or Jensen would take it the wrong way.
"No. I'm kinda wondering if you could hold me up long enough for us to fuck against a wall. It always looks really hot in porn, but I've never been with a guy who had strong enough arms."
Okay. That was an advantage he really hadn't thought of when he was killing time at the gym. There might be all kinds of new, fun ways he could manhandle Jensen.
"Wanna try?" Jared smiled and rolled over on top of Jensen before he really processed the entire statement. Then the last part clicked and he pulled back. "You watch porn? When do you watch porn?"
"Not so much lately. Mostly I jack off to you on the phone."
"How did I not know you watch porn?"
"I don't know. Because when you're around I'm not thinking about it? Does it bother you? I don't have some kind of weird addiction or anything."
"Just wondering. Can I see your porn?"
"If you want to." Jensen laughed a little, then pushed closer and kissed him. "Later. Right now I'd rather see you naked."
"I'm already naked."
"Perfect."
Jensen kissed him again, rough and hard this time, pushing against him and moaning into his mouth-just as Jared's phone started to ring.
"Ignore it. That's not even anyone's ringtone."
"It's a new phone. Allie hasn't gotten to it yet."
"So you wanna get it?"
"Not really."
Jensen smirked and pushed a leg between his thighs. The ringing stopped, but the room phone started to ring a second later.
"I hate my friends. They need to take a hint." Jensen sighed and reached to pick up the phone, growling a little as he spoke. "Kinda busy right now."
Jared heard a familiar high-pitched shriek of delight over the phone before Jensen back-pedaled.
"Amanda? Um, yeah. He's right here."
"Hey. How'd you get the room number?" Jared asked as he took the phone.
"Sandy. Sorry. We called Sandy first but apparently if she made Chris wait this long for sex, he gets her for the rest of the day and the hotel won't let us check in until three, so we're stuck in the lobby. But that's okay. We can let you guys finish up."
"We? You're here?"
"Well, I flew over to visit Allie and we were planning to make it to a Kane show anyway, but then you ended up here for your birthday…" Amanda explained as he heard Allie giggle in the background and ask, "We interrupted sex, didn't we? Tell him we can wait until they're finished."
Jared was really tempted to take her up on the offer, except that it would be rude and then there was the whole problem that even though the hotel seemed really nice, he really didn't want them to get bored and go walking out onto the street alone.
"It's okay. Just, give us a few minutes to shower before you come up."
"Only a few minutes? That really doesn't live up to my expectations," Amanda teased and really, she couldn't hold it against him that he hung up on her.
"Amanda and Allie are downstairs?" Jensen asked as he moved away and headed to the bathroom.
"Yeah. Sorry. They offered to wait but they can't check in yet…"
"No, it's cool. They shouldn't be walking around here by themselves," Jensen agreed but he was quiet and frowning as they stepped into the shower.
"You're mad they're here?" Jared asked. Sure, they had some really bad timing, but he hadn't seen either of them all summer and after spending most of the summer alone, he couldn't help being excited to see his friends for his birthday. Jensen got to spend all summer with his friends. He should understand.
"No. They're your friends. It's great they're here for your birthday." Jensen shrugged and handed him the shampoo with way too little enthusiasm.
"Okay. Then why do you look like you want to die? Seriously. What's up?" Jared set the bottle aside and waited for Jensen to wash the shampoo out of his hair before he pulled Jensen out of the spray and cupped his cheek.
"I just," Jensen started and then looked down before finishing. "They really hated me last time I saw them. And Sandy did to, but she kind of had to forgive me because of Chris. And even then…"
"Sandy gave you a hard time?" He knew Sandy was really pissed about the thing with the van, but that was understandable and she'd been with them a few days before that happened.
"I deserved it and you know, she mostly said I better not fuck up again. But Allie and Amanda? Dude, you know they hated me. They wouldn't even talk to me before they moved out. They just glared anytime I walked by."
"But they know we've been back together all summer. I forgave you, so they did too."
"Uh huh. You know I forgave Justin a few times. Hell, I'm not really even mad at him now. You think that makes a difference to Chris?"
"Don't compare yourself to that asshole."
"My point exactly. And what happened back then? It was both our faults in the end. It really was whether you believe me or not. And what happened with me and you? That was completely my fault. I want you to have friends that love you. I'd be disappointed if they didn't hate me. Hell, even my friends were mad at me for hurting you."
Jared wasn't really sure what to say to that-especially since he couldn't completely deny it. Sure, his friends were thrilled he was happy and they didn't say anything against Jensen. But Jared wasn't stupid and there was a reason he told Alexis about the car-surfing instead of Allie and Amanda. There was a reason he complained to Tessa or Mike all summer when he was annoyed with all the partying Jensen was doing. They tried not to act like it, but somehow he could tell they were on guard, just waiting to be there in case Jensen fucked up again.
"It'll be okay. Just give it some time and they'll trust you again. Besides, they aren't your friends. I have the nice friends remember? They're not going to attack you."
"Sandy hit me a lot this month."
"Was this before or after she found out that you encouraged her boyfriend to ride around on the hood of a van?"
"Mostly after, but a little before."
"Exactly. They're just worried about me, but they really want you to earn their trust back. You just have to give it time, but it'll happen. Okay?"
"Well, I guess we should get out of the shower then so I can start winning them back."
~*~
Jensen was in a better mood by the time the girls knocked on the door. It probably had something to do with how much Jared interfered when he was trying to get dressed, but his shoulders were still a little tense and his smile was dimmer than Jared would like.
"It'll be fine. Really." Jared squeezed his hand and kissed him before opening the door and his arms to the two bouncing girls.
"We brought presents but you can't have them until tomorrow." Allie grinned from under one arm.
"Damn, you really have been working out all summer. You're all sexy and muscley." Amanda ran her hand over his chest. "I totally should've hooked up with you when I had the chance. Except that it would've probably gone about like the Alexis disaster. But seriously. Threesome? You guys need some variety, right?"
Jensen stepped forward then and reached for him, pulling Jared away from Amanda and back toward him.
"Thanks. But I think we have enough variety." Jared smiled and thought back to the previous night.
"Just making sure Jensen remembered how much he hates the idea of sharing you."
"Amanda," Jared warned but Jensen was already stepping toward her and interrupting.
"It's okay," Jensen assured him and turned to address both girls. "I know. I really do. I'm not going anywhere unless he wants me to."
"That's good because you're really too pretty to kill." Amanda exchanged a look with Allie before both girls jumped forward and wrapped him in hugs. "But we'll still do it if you fuck up again. And don't think we don't know about that stupid stunt you pulled with Chris and Steve. Just because Jared protects you doesn't mean Sandy doesn't tell us things."
"I'm never living that one down huh?"
"Please. Between you, Chris, and Steve? You'll do something else just as dumb to over-shadow it. It just better not hurt Jared. For now, maybe Allie and I can distract Steve and make him act like a human."
"That would be awesome."
"Great. We left a message for his room but he didn't call back yet."
On cue, the phone for the room started to ring again. Amanda jumped out of Jensen's arms to answer it.
"Jensen and Jared's room." Amanda giggled at whoever was on the other line. "I wish! That would be so hot! But I already asked for a threesome and Jensen got all grr and basically screamed 'No! Mine!' so I don't think it will happen. Actually, that was kind of hot too. Who is this anyway?"
They should all really know better than to just let Amanda answer their phone. Except who would call their room besides Chris, Sandy or Steve? Maybe one of the guys in the band?
"Pete? You're one of Jensen's friends? How come I don't know you then?"
Jared tried not to react. But why was one of Jensen's exes calling their room? Wasn't he supposed to know Jared was there? Of course, Jensen, Mike, and Alexis all swore it was nothing he should worry about. They weren't even technically exes. It wasn't any different from Alexis still talking to Tom even though Tom was with Tessa. Except that Tessa knew Alexis, and maybe Tessa had been worried at first but now the girls had spent enough time getting to know each other that they actually got along and even mocked Tom together.
Maybe Jared shouldn't be jealous that Jensen still talked to Pete, and maybe he no right to be annoyed that Pete lived in San Francisco. So he'd seen Jensen pretty often in the last two weeks. But they'd slept together off and on for something crazy like four years before Jared was in the picture and he'd never even gotten to meet this guy and determine if he was likely to try going after Jensen again.
Especially considering Jensen practically jumped over the bed trying to get the phone from Amanda.
"He says not to give you the phone but I can give it to Jared." Amanda giggled as she managed to duck under Jensen's arm and pass the phone to Jared.
"Hello?"
Jensen sighed and resorted to trying pull Jared toward him, but Jared was not giving up that easy. If Pete wanted to talk to him, then he wanted to find out what Pete had to say.
"Jared? Perfect. Don't let him have the phone. He'll just hang up on me because he wants to just keep you in bed all day. But I know your friends are here and you've never been to San Francisco so I'm offering to show you guys around."
Jared wasn't sure what he expected Pete to be like, probably something like Justin. But instead he sounded like, well, what most people expected a gay guy to sound like. Okay, that was probably wrong. Now Jared had to be nice because he just thought all kinds of stupid stereotypical things about this guy.
"Um, I'm not really sure what we were gonna do."
"Well then you should let me give you all the tour. I promise it will be fabulous. Besides, I know you'd probably feel better about Jensen hanging out with me if you knew me and I know I'd feel better about my friend being so pathetically in love with you if I met you. And I plan to be wasted and picking up my own guy at the Kane show, so today would really be better."
Jared was really not sure how this guy was going to fit in at the Kane show. He'd been to quite a few Kane shows in Texas and it wasn't exactly a crowd where he could do more than throw a friendly arm over Jensen's shoulder. But then, he also knew Pete was Mike's friend before the other guys even came to UT and he was part of the group until he graduated, so maybe he got away with it.
"Come on. I can cheer Steve up. Trust me. Steve loves me. Even if he covers up by calling me names. He's just jealous I never went after him. And I can tell you all the embarrassing ways Jensen gushes over you that he'd never say to anyone else."
Okay, aside being annoyed this guy supposedly knew things Jensen didn't even tell Chris, he couldn't really turn that offer down.
"Okay. Where are we meeting you?"
"The F-line stops right by your hotel and goes to the Castro. Jensen knows how to take the Muni. I'll meet you guys there for lunch. Jensen's probably been too busy humping your leg to feed you."
The Muni was actually pretty cool even though the little street car made Jared feel kind of gigantic. Public transportation wasn't really popular in Texas but apparently it was the easiest way to travel around San Francisco.
"I can't believe you don't know what the Castro is. What kind of bisexual are you? You're breaking some kind of LGBT code." Amanda sat next to him. She'd been pretty much gushing with excitement since he'd said the word.
"The kind that sleeps with a guy?" Really, Jared was pretty sure that was the qualifying factor. Amanda might not agree, but he never really wanted to get Amanda's logic anyway.
"Yes, well, that's something too." Amanda shrugged as Jared glanced around the streetcar. It had been almost empty when they boarded outside the hotel but now it was packed. Across from them, two men in their thirties held hands and leaned close to each other. It made him want to move closer to Jensen, but Jensen was still keeping the friendly distance they kept up in public in Texas.
Maybe Jensen just didn't like public displays of affection in general. Maybe it was something he only did when he was drunk no matter where they were.
Or it was also possible Jensen didn't want to act too coupley around Steve. Jared liked that theory much better. Apparently Pete had called Steve's room and talked him into coming, but he was still quiet and pouting. Even Allie had given up trying to start a conversation with him.
"Come on! This is the stop." Amanda jumped up and she was lucky Jared caught her waist and held her up when the car jerked to a stop.
"Jenny!" A man Jared could only assume was Pete pulled Jensen into a hug as soon as they stepped onto the sidewalk and Jared had to force himself not to pull Jensen away. Really, he wasn't a jealous guy, but Jensen didn't let anyone call him Jenny and yet he didn't flinch or argue when Pete said it. Then Pete was kissing Jensen's cheek and whispering in his ear. Jared should get a fucking medal because it took way longer than he'd like for Jensen to laugh and push him away.
"You must be Jared! You are even more gorgeous in person than the five hundred pictures of you Jensen has on his phone." Pete leaned forward to hug him and Jared couldn't help laughing. Maybe he didn't hate this guy after all. Pete kissed his cheek and ran his hands over Jared's arms as he turned back to Jensen. "And these arms! You are an idiot. How could you ever even think of letting this go? If I'd known he was this hot, I'd have flown down there as soon as Mike called me and talked some sense into you…or just gone to comfort him myself."
That had Jensen stepping between them and pulling Jared away.
"Yeah, well, you're just going to have to find someone else." Jensen fit himself under Jared's arm and rubbed a hand over his chest as Pete shared a wink with Jared. Okay, fine, Alexis was right. It was impossible not to like Pete. Then again, when was Alexis ever wrong?
"Okay, don't tell me who is Amanda and who is Allie. I can get this." Pete studied them for a minute before pointing at them both and guessing correctly.
"Okay. You must've seen some pictures or something." Allie giggled as Pete kissed them each on the cheek.
"No way. I think Jensen's deleted every other picture on his phone to make room for more pictures of Jared. But I knew Amanda was bi and Allie was straight."
"And you can actually tell I'm bi?"
"I can always tell. It's a skill. In fact," Pete paused and grinned at Jared again. "when Jensen first started to fall for Jared, he actually tried to get me to get me to fly all the way to Austin to tell him if Jared was straight or not. I think if he'd had the money, he would have actually paid for it. It was pretty pathetic."
"I hate you." Jensen groaned and turned his head into Jared's neck.
"You always say that, but I'll never believe it. Just like I'll never believe Steve doesn't want me."
"I've never wanted you." Steve rolled his eyes as Pete advanced on him.
"Aww, don't be like that, baby. You know I'd have gone after you first if I'd met you before Jensen."
"Steve is the one time Pete's gaydar failed him," Jensen explained. "So he still doesn't want to believe Steve's straight."
"It's just because Steve is only gay for me. Right, baby?" Pete managed to move under Steve's arms and nuzzle his neck.
"No. I've never been gay for you," Steve insisted, but the corners of his mouth were already starting to turn up in amusement.
"Really, you don't have to play hard to get. I already want you." With that, Pete leaned down and pressed a kiss to Steve's lips.
Steve shoved him away a second later but he was laughing for the first time all day.
"Okay, okay, I'll cheer up if you stop molesting me. I swear."
"Deal, because if I have to listen to Jenny bitch about you anymore, I'm going to have to disown you both. I swear, I don't know how you guys survive in Austin without me to keep everything in line." Pete grinned and linked arms with Amanda to lead the way to the restaurant he'd picked. "Except I need you to pretend we have a thing during lunch. I've been trying to get this waiter all week and I think he just needs to think he has some competition."
Steve protested all the way to the restaurant, but when Pete wrapped an arm around his waist at the door, he just rolled his eyes and said, "I'm not making out with you. Don't even try."
"So, here's the plan. We can take the Muni to the bridge because you have to see that. Then we can switch directions and see Pier 39. Then you'll have to go back to the hotel to change because we're going out. You come to San Francisco and not party at the Castro. We're hitting the Café."
"Dude, they can't get into the Café. It's twenty-one plus." Jensen smirked and Jared noted that Pete made the announcement when his hot waiter was in earshot.
"About that…" Pete reached into his pocket, pulling out a few plastic cards and passing them to the girls and Jared.
Amanda shrieked in delight as she read hers.
"Fake IDs? You made them all fake IDs? I'm officially the worst role model ever." Jensen sighed as he looked over Jared's New Jersey ID.
"Whatever, you aren't the RA anymore. Besides, I made you your first fake ID and I was the best role model ever."
"Right…how about we don't get into that story."
~*~
Jensen was pushing his hands under Jared's t-shirt as he tried to get the key-card to work on the door.
Jared was pretty sure Pete only flirted with him to make Jensen so jealous he'd stop acting like they were just friends, just like he flirted with Steve just to make him laugh. It always amazed Jared how much Jensen's friends manipulated him for his own (and sometimes Jared's) good, but Pete had it down to an art. He knew exactly what random comment would get the desired reaction out of Jensen. Jared should probably be worried or jealous about it, but it was hard when it resulted in all the public groping Jared could want and the current situation of Jensen pushing him against the wall and sucking on his neck.
Except…
"Hey. Come on. I gotta go home in a few days. You wanna make a hickey, you gotta do it where my parents aren't going to ask questions."
"Blame Alexis. They like her anyway."
"Dude. You did not just say that."
"Fine. But I can do it somewhere they won't see?"
Jensen didn't wait for an answer before pulling off Jared's shirt and kissing down his chest. Jensen pulled at the button on his jeans as he sucked a mark on Jared's stomach. Yeah, he was going to have to remember not to walk around the house without a shirt. They'd never let him go anywhere again if they thought he was letting some random girl in San Francisco blow him.
His pants and boxers fell in a puddle at his ankles and he kicked them away as Jensen licked down his hip and sucked on the inside of his thigh.
"For the record, I'm still not tattooing your name on my ass."
"Hum. What about your back? Right above your ass. It can say 'Jensen's' with an arrow."
"I'm going to pretend you aren't serious."
"It would be hot."
"I'm not getting a tramp stamp."
"Still mine." Jensen mumbled as he sucked Jared into his mouth.
"Yeah, yours." Fuck he missed this. His hand was not an acceptable replacement for Jensen's mouth or Jensen's ass or fuck, any part of Jensen that touched his cock.
Jared let his head fall against the wall, relaxing into the sensation of Jensen's mouth on his cock and Jensen's hands on his ass. They only had a few hours before they had to leave to go to the club, but they only needed a few minutes to actually get ready right?
"Fuck, I'm-" Jared started, intending to warn Jensen that fuck, he really wasn't going to last too much longer under this assault, but instead of sucking the last bit of energy out of him, Jensen gripped the base of his cock and pulled up.
"Not yet." Jensen smirked as he stood, climbing back up Jared's body.
"Evil."
"Soon. I want you fuck me. Against the wall." Jensen pulled a condom and a packet of lube out of his pocket and pushed it into his hand. Jared really wasn't even sure this was going work, but he wasn't going to turn down the chance to try.
He pulled at Jensen's clothes, stripping him and spinning them around so Jensen's back was against the wall. He set the condom on the table next to him and coated his fingers with lube. If this was going to work, he should probably get Jensen ready before he tried picking him up.
Jensen was already pushing against his thigh as Jared trailed his fingers down. When he'd offered to bottom for Jensen, he'd actually been a little worried that Jensen would want to switch roles entirely, but clearly this wasn't going to be a problem.
"More." Jensen breathed hot against his neck as he pushed back, fucking himself harder and faster on Jared's fingers. This was what he loved about teasing Jensen all day. It always led to him falling apart under Jared's hands and begging for more.
"You ready?" He didn't ask much anymore, but he wasn't really going to be able to go slow in this position.
"Yeah." Jensen ripped open the condom, rolling it over Jared's cock and slicking him up before Jared had a chance to think.
Jared still wasn't really sure this was going to work. He'd never actually even tried to pick Jensen up before and just because Jensen was shorter didn't make him small or light, but maybe once he got Jensen lifted and against the wall, he wouldn't have to support all his weight.
Jensen wrapped both legs around his waist when Jared lifted him up. Lifting him up was easier than Jared expected but really, it was holding him up that might be hard. He kept Jensen's gaze as Jensen nodded and lowered himself onto Jared's cock. Jensen groaned, letting his head fall on Jared's shoulder when he was all the way in. Fuck, after doing this himself, he had no idea how Jensen could do that so quickly, even if Jensen said it was all about practice.
"I'm good. I have no fucking clue how we move though." Jensen laughed a little as Jared pushed him against the wall to take some of the weight off his arms
"Dude, this was your idea. You watched all the porn."
"Porn is not real. But fine. I think maybe we both just move our hips."
Jared laughed, but tried tilting his hips back and forth with Jensen pressed against the wall. Yeah, that worked and it had Jensen moaning and whimpering against his neck. Anything that could get Jensen to make that little whimpering sound was worth it. Jensen had this annoying habit of trying to hold that one thing back, which always just made Jared try harder to get it and damn, he was getting it with every thrust against the wall. This was totally worth however sore his arms were going to be tomorrow.
A few more thrusts had Jensen biting into his shoulder and coming against his stomach. Jared couldn't even care about the burning in his arms as Jensen melted against him, mumbling something incoherent as Jared pushed into him. Then Jared was coming hard and it took all the restraint he could find to hold onto Jensen through it.
"Fuck. Can't move," Jensen mumbled, still loose and heavy in Jared's arms as Jared collapsed onto the bed.
"Hm. Totally have time for a nap right?" Jared didn't really care what the answer was anyway. Just reaching for a towel and cleaning them off was taking all his energy.
"Don't care. Sleeping anyway." Jensen curled warm and close against his side, already dozing off as Jared pulled the covers over them.
~*~
"Make it stop," Jensen whined, but didn't move toward the ringing phone at all.
"It's on your side of the bed."
"But I'm sleeping."
"It's amazing how you talk when you're sleeping." Jared rolled his eyes as he climbed over Jensen to the phone.
"I have many skills." Jensen smiled and closed his eyes again.
"Hello?"
"Aww. I woke you up. Now what could you have been doing that would make you guys take a nap right now?" Amanda was evil and one day he was going to prove it.
"So why are you calling?"
"Because we're supposed to leave in half an hour and I figured you guys might need some warning after how Jensen was pawing you in the elevator."
"I thought we weren't leaving until eleven-thirty. We had like four hours."
"It's eleven."
"Fuck."
"I really doubt you have time for that again."
~*~
"We don't have to dance if you don't want to. We can just sit around and drink or whatever." Jensen smoothed the silky black button up shirt he was wearing and Jared wanted to rip it off already.
"That's probably the best idea." Jared shrugged and pulled at his shirt. Why did Alexis have to pack one of his older shirts? It was way too tight for him. "And maybe stay in the shadows."
"Why?"
"My shirt doesn't even fit right. I can't believe Alexis packed this."
"I can." Jensen hooked fingers in his belt loops and pulled their hips together. "It's hot. She was probably thinking I'd just be dying to rip it off."
Jensen was trying to break his promise to not send Jared home with a hickey again when the girls knocked on the door.
"Go without us," Jensen called, pouting when Jared pulled away to open the door.
"Sorry!" Amanda grinned as she pulled Allie in the door. "Carry on. Just pretend we aren't here."
"Okay, I have to ask. How on earth does that shirt stay like that?" Jared had pretty much mastered not getting himself in trouble over Amanda's club outfits, but this was ridiculous. It was pretty much just some fabric draping over her breasts. He was pretty sure something would pop out if she moved at all.
"A combination of double-stick tape and eyelash glue."
~*~
The club was loud and crowded with three different levels. Jared had no idea how they were going to find each other at the end of the night. They found an empty table in a corner, but it didn't look like Allie or Amanda intended to stay there long and Pete was already searching for his hot waiter. Hell, even Steve seemed a little restless and Jared was still kind of shocked he tagged along.
"Okay, we have to buy drinks. Just because we can." Allie grinned and started to pull Amanda to the bar.
"I'm so going to hell," Jensen groaned.
"Dude, you're trying to tell me you haven't gotten any of them drunk before?" Pete asked as Steve laughed and shook his head.
"In a controlled environment. Where I knew everyone that would be around when Amanda took off her shirt. This is not a controlled environment and Allie won't even be nineteen for another week."
"Your boyfriend hasn't even been nineteen for an hour."
"Jared is a lot easier to keep track of."
"Dude. You don't have to babysit me." Though he kind of agreed about Amanda and maybe even Allie. There was that time she got so drunk that he had to carry her up two flights of stairs.
"It's your birthday, you deserve to get wasted and someone has to make sure we all get home. I got wasted on my birthday." Jensen didn't actually point out that Jared stayed sober for pretty much the same reason then, but okay, maybe he had a point.
"I'll help you get the girls back at the end of the night," Steve offered. "I kind of owe you for putting up with me anyway."
Jensen nodded as Steve weaved out into the crowd after the girls and turned back to Jared.
"So I get to buy you your first birthday drink right?"
~*~
Apparently there was actually a drink called a "Comfortable Screw Up Against the Wall" and Jensen thought it was hilarious to buy them for Jared, so Jared was more than a little buzzed when the club started to slow down, but he wasn't really drunk. He kind of had to agree with Jensen that it wasn't the smartest idea to get wasted when they still had to take the Muni back to the hotel. The last thing he wanted to do on his birthday was throw up on a streetcar. But he leaned against Jensen anyway as they pushed through the crowd to find the girls and Steve-mostly just because he could. For the first time, he could do all the things he took for granted when he was dating girls. He could hold Jensen's hand and lean down to kiss his neck. That would change when they went home, but having this for his birthday almost made up for all the times he had to pretend they were just friends.
He spotted the girls on the catwalk upstairs and managed to wave them over. It really helped to be tall sometimes. Allie jumped into his arms as she came down the stairs.
"This was awesome. Can I pretend this is for my birthday too? You'll be gone next week. It's really not fair."
"Amanda and Sandy are visiting for your birthday."
"But not you. It's not fair." Allie pouted and snuggled against his chest. Maybe Jensen was right about the girls drinking.
"Well, you can share my birthday then. We can call tomorrow your birthday night."
"You're still my favorite." Allie grinned up at him and now he remembered why he loved drunk Allie.
"Any chance you've seen Steve?"
"Yeah. Don't worry, we know you made him guard us all night. He's been showing up and checking on us every few minutes." Amanda rolled her eyes and nodded toward the stairs. "We just saw him upstairs a minute ago."
"Great. So we just have to get him and we can get out before the club closes. The Muni will be hell if we wait until they kick everyone out." Jensen nodded toward the exit.
"But I have to pee. Way too much beer." Amanda giggled even as Jensen sighed.
"Can you both meet us at the door in ten minutes?"
"Duh. We're not stupid. Go find Steve. We can manage to pee and make it back to the door in ten minutes."
Jensen nodded and pulled Jared through the crowd and up the stairs. He probably should have pointed out that he wasn't that drunk and he really wasn't going to get lost in the crowd, but Jensen was holding his hand in public and that was really pretty awesome.
Five minutes later, they figured out that if Steve was upstairs, he wasn't on the dance floor.
"He must've found a girl to make out with somewhere. There's a million little corners around here." Jensen leaned over to whisper in his ear.
"Never thought Steve was the type to pick up girls in clubs."
"Well, he doesn't go home with them, but he's been known to find someone to make out with. 'Course, it's Steve, so he'll always get a number and actually call the girl."
"I'm going to pretend you don't think that's a crazy thing to do." Jared laughed against Jensen's neck as they moved toward the edge of the dance floor to look for Steve in the shadows.
Finally they spotted him in a corner. Jensen was right. His back was to them and he was leaning into someone he had pressed against the wall.
"Well, maybe this'll mean he'll be in a better mood," Jensen chuckled, but froze as Steve pulled back to take a breath. He had someone all right, but it wasn't a girl. "Fuck. What the fuck?"
"Guess Pete was right."
"I, fuck, I can't just go over there and get him."
"Dude, you aren't seriously freaking out about this." Jared had to lean close for Jensen to hear him over the music.
"No. Okay, maybe, but just because I know him. Five fucking years and all my shit and he never told me. Now what the fuck am I supposed to say?"
"Nothing. We're in a club and we're all a little drunk. Text him and tell him to meet us at the door. You can deal with it later."
"Yeah, yeah." Jensen nodded and let Jared lead him back downstairs as he sent Steve a text.
~*~
On the way home, Jared had to pretend to be a lot more drunk than he really was just to keep Steve and the girls from noticing Jensen was off in his own world. At least the girls actually were a lot more drunk than they let on and it took most of Steve's attention to keep Amanda from dancing against the pole on the Muni while Allie dozed off on his shoulder.
"You're so sweet. Why are you so sweet now and so bitchy with Sandy? She's way nicer than I am." Amanda giggled as she leaned against the wall next to the elevator. It took a team effort to control her now that Steve was carrying a sleeping Allie in his arms. At least there was an elevator this time, especially since it dinged and opened, letting out four giggling drunk girls on their way to the front desk, distracting Amanda before anyone thought too hard about her question.
"Oh, she was hot!" Amanda forgot her question and tried to follow the girls.
"I don't think so." Jensen reached out and gathered her into the elevator.
"You're no fun. Will you be more fun after I turn twenty-one? Because it's only cute when you get all protective of Jared and you're not even guarding him this much."
"Jared's six four, and he's not trying to wander off and get killed."
"Aww, I knew you loved me!" Amanda grinned and leaned against Jensen's side.
"In a completely platonic way."
"That's good. Because if you hurt Jared again, I'll gouge your eyes out with my fingernails." Amanda smiled and followed Steve out of the elevator when it opened on their floor.
"Dude, your friends are scary."
"My friends are scary? Your friends threatened me before I ever screwed up. Alexis threatened way more important body parts than my eyes."
"Yeah, but then she kicked me for hurting you. It's really not fair."
Jensen fell onto the bed curling up against Jared when he laid down next to him.
"I'm lovable like that."
"Yeah."
"So you wanna tell me why you're freaking out over Steve?"
"I'm not freaking out."
"Uh huh." Jared ran a hand over his back, waiting.
"I just don't get why he didn't tell me. Over five years, and I had no idea."
"You waited over three years to tell him you were gay."
"But I would have told him if I knew. I told Pete. Right after I met him. Or okay, he figured it out and I didn't deny it. But after everything that happened when I came out? He should have known it would be okay. He should've known he could trust me."
"Maybe he thought it would be too much at once if he came out too."
"Maybe. I don't know. It just would've been nice, to have someone else that got it. Chris, Lexi, everyone, they were all amazing. But they didn't get it and Pete was already over here. Steve got it and he just didn't say anything."
"Maybe he had other reasons." Jared leaned down to press his lips to Jensen's forehead. He couldn't imagine what it would have been like if he had to go through everything himself. He'd had Jensen helping him through everything. And Amanda could get past asking him for details the few times he'd almost freaked about everything that came with liking both guy and girls-something that Jensen had to admit he didn't quite get himself.
"But what? Chris wouldn't care. None of us would."
"You really haven't figured it out?" Sometimes Jared just didn't get how dense Jensen could be.
"What?"
"Dude, why did Chris say it wasn't that weird to find out you were gay?"
"'I never had a thing for him so it didn't really change anything.' What does that have to do with…" Jensen stopped, realization dawning over his face. "Shit, shit. I assumed it was a girl."
"Yeah."
"That's why he reacted to Sandy like he did. Fuck. This is going to be a mess."
"Maybe."
"Chris is straight. I mean, I know I said Steve was straight, but we always had some stuff that made us wonder. But Chris loves Sandy. Maybe I should just pretend I never saw anything."
"You could. You also just got pretty upset he let you deal with everything by yourself."
"I hate you."
"Uh huh. That's why you have all those pictures of me on your phone. I think I'm sleeping in six of them."
"I hate Pete."
~*~
"Hm. Happy Birthday," Jensen mumbled as Jared pulled back from the kiss. "Don't you wanna sleep late on your birthday?"
"Chris is gonna call to make sure you're up in twenty minutes anyway. Sorry, I just wanted a few minutes for myself."
"Oh. S'okay. 'Cept the part where I have to get up and work on your birthday." Jensen frowned, but his hand was already drifting down Jared's side. "You know, I didn't know you were coming, so I mailed all your presents. Or Chris was supposed to mail them, so he probably just kept the box for when you got here."
"Presents? It's plural?" Jared tried hold back his smile, but really, he loved presents. Presents were awesome. "You really didn't have to."
"Don't get too excited. It's nothing really big. Just random stuff I've picked up over the summer." Jensen looked down, hiding his face a little. "I just kind of picked up whatever made me think of you when I saw it."
"I'm sure I'll love it." Jared tipped Jensen's face back up toward him and pressed their lips together.
~*~
"Sandy won't give me any details. Jared, offer some details in trade." Amanda giggled and jumped over onto the bed he was currently sharing with Allie. The guys had already left to work out the details with the club and the new opening act, leaving him to hang out with the girls until it was time for the show. He still wasn't sure what they had to work on all day when they usually just showed up half an hour before the clubs opened, but Chris had dragged Jensen away before noon.
"I'm not trading details when I don't even want details. They ignored us and stayed in bed all day yesterday. That says enough."
"Exactly. Besides, you're the one that wants details from Jared. What I want to know is what this extra surprise in tonight's concert is. Jared knows, because Jensen told him, and he won't tell me!"
"It'll kill the surprise! And Chris would kill me. Besides, I heard you talking to Chris. There's something you're not telling me, too."
"But you love surprises. You totally don't want to know! I want to know!" Sandy pouted and if he didn't know Chris would kill him and Jensen wouldn't trust him anymore, he'd be tempted to tell. He knew why Sandy didn't like surprises. She'd had a few too many bad ones. But maybe this could make her change her mind a little.
"You'll love it. I promise. Trust me, okay?"
"Fine. Only because I don't want to get you in trouble."
"So anyway, you still haven't told us how it is seeing Jensen again. I mean, you guys broke up, got back together and only had four days before he left again. And you've barely said anything to us about him all summer! I think I've found out more from Sandy through Chris than from you." Allie frowned and poked him in the stomach.
"This from the girl took three days to tell me she broke up with her boyfriend."
"You knew I was thinking about it! Besides, you had too much of your own stuff. You didn't need to be worrying about me when you were in the middle of working things out with Jensen."
"Yes I did! You're my friend. What if I hadn't told you about Jensen for three days?"
"I'd have noticed you were dying. And I told you it wasn't like that. We just didn't have that much of a spark. We didn't have that crazy I-need-you-or-I-will-curl-up-in-a-ball-and-die thing you and Jensen have. There was no running off and punching walls. There just wasn't enough to try doing long distance all summer."
"You still should've called me."
"Fine. Next time, I'll call you. I promise. But the point is that by now you know all the details and you've been avoiding all my questions about Jensen all summer. You and Jensen broke up! And okay, it was only five days, but you were really messed up and you guys obviously had stuff to work through. But you still just keep saying everything is great."
"Everything is great." Mostly. And they were working through the other stuff. Jensen had a lot of issues, but that wasn't exactly new information. But what mattered was that they were working on it. Jensen was learning to talk to him more and the only thing that was really going to convince him that Jared was in this for the long haul was time.
"But it can't be perfect. I mean, Sandy and Chris are great, but she still bitched about all the partying Chris was doing without her all summer. Things don't have to be perfect, and we know they weren't even before the break up. You used to tell us this stuff." Allie nodded at the other girls.
"You're my friend. You know what it's been like all summer to hear things about you and Jensen from Chris because he thinks I should already know?" Sandy sighed and joined the rest of them on Allie's bed.
"Then I have to find out from Sandy and by that time Alexis has known for a week."
Jared groaned. He really hadn't thought it was so obvious that he was sugar-coating things for the girls.
"I'm sorry. But you guys just freak out so easy now. You've all already threatened Jensen in just the last two days. Sandy hit him the second she saw him again!"
"He deserved it and you agreed with me the other times."
"That was different. He's already upset y'all don't trust him anymore. I'm not making it worse."
"Okay. Fine, that's fair." Amanda interrupted before the other girls could argue. "But we can't trust him again if all we ever hear is that everything is fine, because we know you're lying. So really, what you're doing now is what's making it worse. When you don't tell us anything, we assume the worst. No relationship is perfect. I mean, Chris and Sandy make me want to throw up and I'm going to have to throw up after the surprise tonight, but even they have issues."
"What? You know what the surprise is and you didn't tell me?"
"Duh. Chris wanted to make sure you'd like it. And you will, but I'm not telling you. Now, back on topic. The 'Jared's been brushing us off all summer' topic."
"I haven't been that bad. I call you all every other day."
"And tell us nothing," Allie filled in. "Look, we love Jensen. We do, but you were really messed up. We'd be crappy friends if we weren't mad at him. But we'll trust him sooner if you're honest about things. If we didn't know better from Chris, we'd just think you were letting him get away with everything."
"If you want me to be honest, you have to be nicer. You guys are stressing him out. I already spend enough time convincing him I can trust him again."
"Which we'd know if you talked to us."
"So how about we agree to try harder with Jensen and you agree to start talking to us again?" Amanda looked to the girls who nodded.
"If you'll stop being the rational one. It's weird. And it's making me uncomfortable."
~*~
"They look all sexy when they're getting ready for a show. You know, if I didn't think it would turn into a huge disaster, I'd go after Steve. Just so I could have a hot guy sing to me." Amanda sighed as she watched Steve tune his guitar.
"I'm pretty sure Steve's more the relationship type." Jared figured he should leave out there part where Steve was also probably in love with Chris.
"Which is why I'm not going there. Hey! Maybe Allie could go for him."
"I'd rather move outside the group. I mean, Jared's hooked up with Alexis and Jensen. Alexis has also hooked up with Tom. Chris is with Sandy. Jensen's hooked up with Pete and made out with Alexis. Oh, and you've made out with Sandy. It's getting a little incestuous. The only thing that could make it more incestuous than me hooking up with Steve would be someone else hooking up with Justin."
"That would be interesting." Sandy grimaced and took a sip of her drink. Jared really thought Chris and Jensen were going to kill Pete when he showed up with a fake ID for Sandy.
"That is not happening." Jared didn't growl. There was no proof.
"Right, because you'd go all grr again and beat him up." Sandy rolled her eyes, but the subject dropped there as Chris and Steve walked on stage with the band.
~*~
"Okay, y'all have been great. We've got just two more for you. This next one's a new one. I actually wrote it for my girl." A series of "awws" went over the crowd and Chris blushed, but smiled at Sandy through the crowd. "So, um, she has to like it because I'm never living this down."
Chris launched into the song and Jared had to give Steve credit for just playing along and not reacting.
Sandy was beaming when he finished.
"You knew about this? Since when?"
"Since he started writing it. Jensen's been making fun of him for weeks."
"Oh really?" Sandy grinned. That evil grin that said she knew something he didn't. But Chris was talking again before he could question it. Wait, wasn't Sandy's song supposed to be last? Jared knew he saw Jensen with the set-list.
"Okay, so this next one isn't really one of ours. We didn't write it and we're only doing back-up. But we did the set-list we promised, so no one gets to get mad. Even though no one will anyway, because you guys are going to love Jensen. He's lame and a pain in my ass, but everyone else seems to think he's hot."
"You knew about this?"
"Yeah. Chris caught him working on it last week and decided he should sing it today."
Jensen hit Chris and pushed him off his stool so he could take his place.
"For the record: Chris and Steve blackmailed me into doing this."
"Man, you're going to lose all your boyfriend points for admitting that." Chris chuckled as he took another stool from one of the stagehands.
"No, I'd get credit just for writing it and singing it in private like I planned." Jensen swatted at Steve when he laughed, but Jared could tell he was nervous. Jensen wrote his own stuff, but he never really played his own songs in public. When he filled in for Chris or Steve, he always sang their songs.
"Yeah, well we spent all day learning this for you." Chris smirked and addressed the crowd again. "So Jensen wrote this song. For his boyfriend, Jared." Chris pointed and a spotlight moved over him for a second. "For his birthday. Even though he's been buying him shit in every single place we stop. So can we get some 'aww's for him?"
Jensen glared at Chris as the crowd followed instruction and Jared almost went to stop the whole thing. Except when would they be somewhere Jensen could sing to him in public again? And the girls at the table were all smiling and giving Jensen the kind of looks they gave him before the break-up. Maybe Sandy was right when she insisted that Chris always had different motives than he admitted.
"Remember that time you didn't get laid for seven months?" Jensen smirked and started playing before Chris could answer.
He found Jared's eyes in the crowd before he started singing and then it didn't really matter that everyone else was hearing the song too. It might as well just be the two of them, and damn, there was no way he should've ever doubted Jensen if he was writing this all summer.
The crowd went crazy when the song ended, clapping and whistling, but Jensen just smiled, looking away and shoving Chris as he moved off the stage.
Chris was saying something to close the show, probably thanking the audience and the city or whatever, but all Jared could pay attention to was Jensen walking over to him.
"You just made every single person in this club want you." Jared smiled and reached up to cup Jensen's cheek in his hand.
"Don't really care about any of them."
"That's good. Because I'm really not sharing." Jared moved closer, still giving Jensen time to move away, but Jensen moved toward him instead. And then he was kissing Jensen, in a club, just like they were a normal couple. This really was the best birthday ever.
It wasn't until they pulled apart and he opened his eyes to squint at the bright light that he noticed the whistling and the catcalls. Apparently Chris and Steve could get the club to point the spotlight wherever they wanted.
"I'm killing him. And telling Sandy every stupid thing he did all summer."
